What beer are you drinking now? #663

Event filled day! Beer run to Missouri & Arkansas. We picked up our dog Cope from the Humane Society ( had to get him fixed before we could bring him home ). He is a 4 month old Beagle & mutt mix. He is also a mess, already peed on the carpet twice & doesn't enjoy being on the leash at all. I'm sure more fun to follow.

Also took my youngest to see Guardians of the Galaxy. He really liked the idea of a talking raccoon, easily the best fun summer movie I've seen this summer.

Now to dip into my haul:

Caldera Ginger Beer & a Summit Oktoberfest after that...

 

Another fantastic Great Lakes beer. This time it's their Oktoberfest. Love this style of beer and this is my favorite (Hacker Pschorr's is number two, followed by Bouelvard's Bob 47, if anyone cares.) Perfect balance of sweetness and noble hop character. I love that this brew is more robust than most o-fest beers, but still retains that drinkable quality that makes you wanna go back, pint after pint.

 

My official go to pumpkin ale for the whole season. This stuff is fricking delicious and full of balanced flavor for a session level brew.


Delicious hoppy red ale. Almost a brown-ish IPA in character(a fair bit of nutty/chocolate flavor in there), but I really enjoy it. Odd Side has been just been killing it this year. I almost always have something of theirs in my fridge.


Fresh 6 pack of the beer that is always in the fridge. I should probably just keg a clone of this already.


The go-to saison 4 pack. I wish Unibroue made some kind of saison. Ommegang and Unibroue are my affordable Belgian 4 packs across the board because they are all awesome. Might have to start getting Stillwater in the rotation since they are up here now.

Ayinger Maibock -- the highest-rated Maibock on the site! Pretty good, although perhaps not my favorite Maibock.

Drinking and attempting to review Deschutes River Ale. I notice they've changed the site since yesterday now also. WHY would they think it is a good idea to remove individual categories? After 900+ beers, they change this shit on us?

I would like one of the Bros to address this awful change. STAT.

Thanks, I haven't had that in awhile but look at it every time because its in the grocery store top shelf. It has a good rating but I had sn pale ale and thought it was to dry .

 

My time in the East Coast is drawing to a close as I prepare to make my way back to San Francisco after a four-year hiatus. Nights like tonight are going to make me both miss and cherish having been able to live in the not-so-best yet incredible coast;
