    Just as a PSA, this is true for beer, but if you buy liquor over the border you still have to pay the sales & liquor taxes.

    Hence my familiarity with the liquor store in Post Falls,Idaho (and with Umatilla, Oregon's if I still lived in the Tri-Cities). Even with the 50-60 mile drive roundtrip, I still come out ahead. I think booze distributors in eastern WA bleed out their ass when it comes to Spokane and the Tri-Cities, theoretically the two biggest markets in the eastern half of the state.

    Growing up 30 or so miles north of Oregon, it was great fun watching Oregonians who rarely ventured north sitting in their cars at gas stations perplexed as to why no one was pumping their gas!
