Lovin' that photo EB and lovin' the scrap book of beer labels you have, had 3 of the 4 on the page and including the bottle. I've got the 1001 beers to try before you die book, however, I've only tried about 250 of them, more homework required.

    Having my Guiness FES
my memory appears to be not entirely correct on this stout but drinkable enough

Having said that this is going back to when I was 18
and I bough about 20 bottles of various stuff (including Carlsberg Elephant) from around the globe
from now long gone Marble Arch World Beers to show solidarity to a friend who'd lost his father to the big C
so the fact we had epic top flight hangovers the day after (& it being 22 years ago) buts things a bit hazy shade of boozeness

though I do recall the label had a very aged look, like paper smeared with mustard
so perhaps it was a bottle aged vintage after all :open_mouth:

I was going to have a dry weekend but needed to steel myself for the Scotland v. Deutschland game

So a bottle of homebrewed pale ale to begin with, nice drop, well hopped from challenger and saaz, now have moved onto some Westmalle Dubbel courtesy of Waitrose, needs no introduction

Bevis, do you try and keep every new label you buy? Must be quite an impressive collection by now :open_mouth:

    I try
I have a terrible memory so it's a great physical reminder if I've had the beer,

It started with lining a cupboard doors (ie so the missus didn't have to look at them)
filled that and two notebooks & half way through number three after which will ditch for a4 folder
so more pages can be filled & filed
but will I still have the ticking bug after ale 1000
    &
when will I settle down with a 'regular'?

Good parenting, unless your son is 4, in which case maybe a couple of years to early yeah?

    LOL, no...he's 6.

Only joking he's 20 and I love the fact that he likes his ale. Easy for these youngsters to start on the Buckfast or alchopops, but I'd like to think I've taught him well. He is a big fan of German, Belgian and Czech beer.

My dad was CAMRA member, though my son now 13 says boozers are losers & all beer smells like piss.

With me watching controlled consumption & being told of drink dangers by my parents and sensibly given wine & beer by them, that gave me my positive healthy view of alcohol.

    Also, Can you drink Brasso?

Only if you pour vodka through it while in a coffee filter bevis, believe me I've tried. I've tried so, so hard.

three excellent days working at Leeds International Beer Festival, the choice was excellent. It was great to have the opportunity to meet up with old friends and make a few new ones. Great selection from Kernel, Siren, Beavertown (Logan serving the beer), Camden, Tiny Rebel... in fact there were just so many good beers to sample, there were a few that made you roll your eyes and think just because you can add something to a beer doesn't mean you should do. It's already noted in the diary for next year.

Excellent...as it always does, I particularly like the Bengali Tiger. I also enjoy when my local 'Spoons has something from Sixpoint on draught.

    Even more alarmingly:

"The new bottle has an RRP of £2.79 and is available exclusively to the on-trade."
    http://www.thedrinksreport.com/news/2013/15006-red-stripe-stubby-bottle-launches-in-the-uk.html

Does everyone remember paying £4 for cans of 440ml RS at gigs? I'm telling you, soon you'll be forking over £4 for these piddly bottles. Of course, the fact that they're in B&Ms a year after release may be a sign they've gone down as well as a turd in a swimming pool.

    ---

Just seen 4x Nigerian FES packs in Tesco for £5.99. Next to it is Dragon Stout for £1.39.

By the way, anyone knows when Fuller's Vintage 2014 is released? Also, you can buy a mix of 12/13 for £2.50 a bottle on their site.
