Typical hoarder scum like this can be found slithering about at all these events.

As one of those who hung out the entire time, no one bought more than their share that I saw. I left with a four pack of expedition, 1 bcbs, and 1 bb xxiii. People who stayed were no more greedy than those who grabbed all their beer in the first go round or showed up 30 minutes early to get a spot at the table. Some people want to maximize their hauls. I just wanted what I wanted. I chatted with the guys at Zipp's and made sure they were cool with us hanging out and no one seemed to have any problems with it.

These events are made to bring people in to a business not fulfill your whale hunting dreams. The fact that events like this have the ability to ping pong in forums like this explain why they deal people short the first time around, and then serve them afterwards for the bigger commercial after the fact.

Just resurrecting this thread rather than starting a new one.

I popped into Zipp's this morning to grab a couple things and they had two tables of stuff from the cellar. Nothing too notable, so I passed, but thought I would pass on the information. Off the top of my head they had: 4 year bigfoot verticals, Smoke, Pentagram, Alaskan Smoke Porter, Old stock ale (and the otsuchi one), Friek, Double bastard ale, Vertical Epic 11, 2012 Stone IRS and probably some others.

I thought SN TOTALLY jumped the gun and released celebration ale already, but then I noticed it was from 2009!

Zipps has ~15 cases of 2009 SN Celebration Ale for $5/6pack. Anyone ever had this beer aged that long? I was unwilling to gamble the $5.50 to try it. Its a little dark, but fresh hopped and not very boozy. Think it holds up for 5 years?

I had the same thought as you when I saw a bottle for sale at the last Blue Max cellar sale this past winter but I thought I'd give it a shot. For a five year old IPA, I thought it was good but nothing too amazing. Very smooth and drinkable, though. I know the beer description says no spices but I'll be darned if my mind doesn't play tricks on me because I always seem to pick up some kind of holiday flavor. I think I paid around $2 a bottle so $5 for sixer is a steal.

I bet it'll still get ya drunk. If you're into that kind of thing.
