So you're looking for a brewery that you can tour and then eat in a private dining room? Have you ever been to a brewery before?

Only option remotely close to this would be Stone and it's up in Escondido.

Stone Liberty Station would also be an option, albeit without the tour. They could setting up a private tour of the (much smaller) brewing facilities, but it fits the tasting and dining part of the equation and is convenient from Downtown San Diego.

I took it as meaning they are going to tour around town at different breweries and then find a cool spot to eat.

I get that different people have different preferences, difference tastes, etc., but your statement above (implying that people who do enjoy the Bruery beers (there are obviously plenty, myself included - not everything they brew, but enough of them that I keep buying them and look forward to new releases, etc.) only do so because they are "expensive" or "aged in a barrel") is douchey. I could easily respond by saying that your palate sucks (which appears to be the case), but I'm not a douche, so I won't. Again, it's fine to not like a particular beer that others like, but to imply that people who do like the beers are lemmings and only like the beer because of factors other than taste, is just wrong.

Negative opinions do not need to be labeled as douchey. But douchey or not, I maintain my sentiment that beer culture these days has conditioned consumers to buy anything that has adjuncts and aged in a barrel. That is fine that you don't agree, but you really didn't offer any counter argument. I also didn't say that all Bruery beers are bad. This is what I said above (nice cut job):

I still maintain that there is a decrease in thoughtfulness in the Bruerys barrel program when compared to others who live in the same space (HF, de Garde, Ale Apothecary, FW, Upright to some extent.). Some of the beers I had were straight up bad - and this sentiment isn't just mine; this is discussed all the time in the forums.

Also I think it is completely plausible for people to buy and consume sub par product because it is expensive and is trendy. We see it all the time.

As for my palate sucking, I am not sure how to respond or quantify how good of a palate someone has. I think i drink and prefer good beer from good breweries. I enjoy all styles aged in barrels and not.

    Lastly...
....I think you just called yourself a douche, because you did respond saying that my palate sucks.

Why? There's already 71 other SD threads on the front page?

Hence the need for having this on the first page. This was supposed to stop the multiple threads.
