Rich, where all are you looking to go? Other than to the cellar.

I honestly haven't decided. I've been spending weekends visitng rural lambic cafes or going to Drie, De Cam or Tilquin. Last weekend I was in Lembeek and Dworp.

    places I went:

Moeder Lambic fontainas - probably my favorite bar in Brussels. love how they give you a little dish of malted barley to munch. really friendly waitstaff.

Delirium Café - eh. not terrible. very cool interior, but had some really abrasive bartenders. wasn't too crowded, by my standards, even at night. then again, it was sunday.

In 't Spinnekopke - amazing Vol Au Vent (basically like a Belgian chicken pot pie) and seriously good moules frites in a Maredsous beer cream sauce.

Aux Armes de Bruxelles - great moules frites, great escargot, a bit fancy and stuffy for me. not such a good beer selection.

Nuetnigenough - blood sausage here was INSANE. loved it. nice beer selection, for sure, but they were out of a few things I wanted. can't hold that against them though.

Au Bon Vieux Temps - this place is hidden in a random alleyway. literally stumbled upon it by accident. great little bar - really surprised when i saw Westy 12 on the menu. had to order it, they let me have the cap. "Pour le prouve," the bartender said as she rolled her eyes (translated: for proof). she was a lot of fun, dancing to 90s music behind the bar - which was really unfitting for a bar so well kept to an earlier time period, but that's belgium I suppose.

Les Brassins - great food, good beer, nice people, sort of a far walk but so is everything worth seeing in Brussels. I had leg of rabbit in kriek beer sauce.

Restobieres - damn this place was cool. amazing food. i had duck waterzooi made with Blanche de Namur.

Fin de Siecle - SUPER packed. kinda cool how the menu is on a chalkboard only, but also a little difficult to read (especially since it's only in French, which was fine for me). I had carbonnades made with chimay bleu. basically tasted like the best pot roast/beef stew ever.

A la Mort Subite - eh...just ok. had lunch there, a croque monsieur, and a mort subite kriek (which was ok, i suppose).

Groot Vleeshuis - daytrip to Ghent took me to this place, which translates from Dutch to Great Meat Hall. I was literally drinking beer while sitting under cured hams hanging by rope from the rafters. So cool.

De Koetse - awesome restaurant on my daytrip to Bruges. had Eel in Green, loved it.

    I'm probably forgetting a few...

When we visited Spinnekopke, they whipped up a fresh pitcher of faro with Cantillon Gueuze right at our table. Our waiter was a hoot.

Au Bon Vieux a good stop. People don't know about it, which always struck me funny since it's not far from the touristy mecca that is the Grand Place.
