As a guy who stood in line 3+ hours to get shut out of all the variants, I will totally go with shit show.

 

Hey everyone we still have some Sixterhood love to take care of. 6 delicious beers will be coming your way, I've got a few contenders, but I am going to open this up until next Thursday (My MI trip got moved to early next week. I'll be sending out the box on 11/1). There will be at least one beer rated 100.

A refresher on the Sixterhood:

If you would like to be in consideration to be the recipient of a 6-shipper box filled with great stuff, please BM me your shipping address and your best guess as to who may favorite "football" team is. If you would prefer to skip this trip and sign up for a future trip, don't send me your address and wait for the next person to post their NBO to sign up.

Signup period ends at noon Friday 10/31. At that time I will randomly select the recipient and start posting hints as to who it is. Box will be shipped as soon as I get it ready!

Trip #1 - Maryland --> Texas (complete)
Trip #2 - Texas --> Illinois (complete)
Trip #3 - Illinois --> Colorado (complete)
Trip #4 - Colorado --> Texas
Trip #5 - Texas --> Ohio
Trip #6 - Ohio --> ?

How Sixterhood works:

1) The current holder of the Sixterhood box will make a post in the Locals BIF thread saying that the signup period for the next Trip is open and will be open for 2 or 3 days. Anyone that would like to be a potential target for the box would send their address information in a BM to the current holder of the box. To be eligible the person must have:
a) participated in Locals BIF rounds 1, 2 (summer 6'er), OR 3 (current round)
b) have not already received the Sixterhood box.

2) After the signup period is over, the current holder will randomly pick the next lucky recipient of the Sixterhood box. They will not announce this person nor the number of people that signed up, but instead will start posting hints as to where the box is going (BIF style hints). If no one signs up to be the next recipient then, as the original founder, heystevec will be the final recipient (hopefully without him knowing that it is coming to him).

3) The holder of the Sixterhood box will fill the box with high quality local bottles or wants and ship it to the target. Make it a kickass box, but with this group of people I know we won't have to worry about that. Also, add the targets name to the tracking board in the box and add any 'decorations' that you wish to help commemorate the box's visit to your state.

4) Once the box is received by the target, they will post the pr0n for all to enjoy.

5) Start over at #1

You do not have to enter every signup period. You can pick and choose when you want to be in consideration to be the next recipient. This would be nice if the current holder of the box is from your own state or an adjoining state or if you are going to be out of town for a while or whatever. Jump in and out as you please.

 

Fair enough, I usually reserve "shit show" for when there is chaos or general poor management, but having not been there, I'll concede to someone's opinion who was.

If we BM'd you a week ago, I assume there's no need to do so again?

Not true chaos.
But...
There were numerous instances of line cutting because the line would break up at the exterior door to the brewery.
They failed to recognize a line that stretched to the next block and adequately adjust their unrealistic limits.

 

So are you guys still using that same styro shipper for the sixterhood? Curious how that thing's holding up after 5+ go arounds.

No, the football thing is from the last one, I thought I caught everything but that one slipped out.

The styro shipper is fine so far with light damage.

 

Beer is for drinking and sharing with friends. Shared one today with a friend who is opening a brewery next year.

 

Assuming it is in Florida, can you say what part? I visit my parents each year in Anna Maria, FL and love checking out new places.

It will be well in advance of the opening you mentioned, but I should be down sometime in the next couple months on business, Orlando and Jacksonville I think in one trip (and probably a quick jaunt to Tampa for CCB/Peg's). That trip will probably be repeated about 6-9 months later, so possibly right around the opening.

Finally dropped off 2 boce at roughly 45lbs total. Hope you enjoy, feel like I did a good job sticking to your styles here.

 

That matches with my thinking and my hunch is that he is going to the other person.

But.... @edhizdeid is shipping to TX and gave a hint of "Taj Mahal" which I can't relate to anything for me. At first I thought he was referring to Jerry's World (Cowboy's stadium) but that doesn't match with who I think your sender is. I'm confused and can't figure out which of the two is sending to me so I will just sit back and be surprised when it lands.

Don't know yet; the plan was for the account manager on my side to go in first and meet the client, then we'd do a larger meeting a couple months later with the account manager and myself, the client and their benefits broker all together for something a little larger in scope. That first meeting got pushed back a few weeks and hasn't happened yet; the original guess of November is starting to look very unlikely, and I can't imagine doing much travelling in December. So, probably in the new year.

 

Ohhh, the Houston Aeros moved to Des Moines...well then.

There weren't any cities in New Jersey with more population than Houston in 1960 though...am I missing something?

Edit: I'm not sure what Taj Mahal means either. Sometimes I build it when I play Civ 5 though.

 

And his hint said the city didn't have teams for the 4 major sports right? We have the Texans, Astros, Rockets and Dynamos.
