She was hot but it was like kissing an ash tray. (True story, actually.)

2013 Goose Island Bourbon County coffee. This beer is spectacular.

I've posted some Dire Straits recently a couple times, in more mellow moments. You might not guess that from the metal that's normally in my posts...but that's one of my favorite bands. Coincidentally, I'm a big Sixpoint fan, but I've never tried Sweet Action. How's it tasting?

And while we're on music, @goingbrokeonbeer's post reminded me that I heard this on the way home, and this album isn't hardly represented enough on here:

Sweet Action is tasting pretty good. It's definitely worth trying. I can see how some people would love it, but it's not really my style so I probably won't pick it up again.

Trying out a new one tonight from a brewery right down the street where I used to live. Met the owners for zum bier at Timmy Otooles one night and never thought they'd get up and going so quick! Definitely glad to see them doing good things and didn't think I'd be able to get any bottles. Pretty good stuff I'd have to say!

My first Trappists Rochefort 10. I guess I have arrived. I don't think my palate developed enough to appreciate. It definitely gets better as it warms. I have had better tasting quads. I hope I don't piss too many ba's off.

Now you gone and done it- opened the door to temptation. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll make more .

Really glad to hear you are enjoying it! And that chicken does look fantastic- here's to the good life. Cheers!

This beer is an example of why I think it IS possible to make a good Brown Ale, if brewers would make the effort. Glad others enjoy it as well.

Avery Pump(ky)n 2014 into a snifter. Smells largely of molasses (ala Bourbon County Stout), whiskey and spices. Tastes more of fiery whiskey, chocolate, indiscriminate spices. Molasses come through more as it warms. Ah, yes; this is now tasting, smelling, and feeling more and more like what Bourbon County Pumpkin Stout would presumably taste, smell, and feel like. It isn't nearly as oily-thick though, and with less chocolate as well, but it's close. Finish is still a bit too fiery hot for my preferences (a one-two punch of alcohol warming and cinnamon assault) but nowhere near as grating as I worried it would be.

I can imagine this getting some vanilla oak flavor once the heat has died down. Possibly age a bottle?

Definitely listen to this one all the way through, the first 3 minutes don't do the rest of it justice.
