Hint #2 - I have participated with my Thurman (Bad Santa) in a previous BIF.

Hint #3 - Thurman likes a certain brewery in my neck of the woods, and he's getting his own special box of brews from just that brewery.

I haven't been doing this as diligently as I normally do -- at some point I will start over and do everyone -- but I had you at 23 as of yesterday. That assumed Ohio qualified as a state with NFL teams that suck.

You may need to re-read his post, unless that was a typo...

Hey everyone, I have a sort of off topic question since alot of your guys are more experienced with shipping. I know this is probably a better question for the trade help forum, but since I needed to post a hint in here I figured I might ask as well.

I had 3 boxes picked up by ups on sat, labels made no problems. Were checked into the ups facility, but my online account never updated with the ups Tracking number for them, and I cant search the ups website itself with my info for them. However on my account, it says the boxes are still expected for delivery tomorrow, but has not updated since they got checked in originally. I have a strange feeling I might have lost my first boxes ever, and I am pretty sure this is the reason but I am not 100%. I already informed both of my trade partners about it, and let them know if the boxes are not delivered by the end of the business day tomorrow I would contact ups, and would regardless of what happened have a new box/s sent out tomorrow evening.

Does this sound like ups either lost my boxes, or figured out what was in them like I fear. Or am I just overly paranoid?

    Also
Hint #5 or 6: There are multiple participants in this bif from my targets state

@Seanhand_atl There should be an update on the tracking numbers that they were at least scanned in, but I have seen the status not getting updated until right after they are delivered, so it isn't uncommon to not see step-by-step tracking. So it doesn't concern me as long as you can type in the tracking number and SOMETHING comes up.

If you don't even have tracking numbers you might have some trouble, but you should have been given them when you created the labels.

If the packages were delayed or lost it would read exception typically. I have had boxes delayed for all kinds of reasons like late trailers, train derailment, high volume and weather but each time I got an exception notice. Since I have moved go FedEx tho I haven't had an issue and they deliver saturdays!

Yes - I would guess they just didn't upload a status update on them, are in transit now, and something are will automagically show up as out for delivery on the expected date.

When I ship on the west coast, it is not uncommon for me to not have updates from the moment it leaves the departing facility until it gets to the final warehouse or even as it is on delivery. As long as you have your tracking number show up in the system, you should be good.

I'll be drinking my presents on the day I open them, no matter what they are. It's extremely unlikely that any one day's package is going to knock me on my ass or make me not want to drink the next day.
(Yes, that could be taken as a challenge. Bring it!)

I don't know what bottles @jawas is referring to, but in general I agree with you. I'm on my way to a year-long streak that started last Thanksgiving

    I love "automagically"

Just thinking 2 750ml back to back 10+ ABV bottles might be something someone might not want to drink alone. Both being beer most would love to put in their cellar anyway, which means I wouldn't be upset by a lack of consumption.

Sadly I had the opposite when I switched to Fedex (cheaper) and they destroyed a box. Maybe I didn't pack it as well as I thought, though didn't do anything different then the multiple boxes I send through UPS. I might give it another try in the future.

Perhaps including a separate "drink in case you want to cellar this bad boy" bottle for certain days might be appropriate??

    I'm lurking back out now.......

I am such a hoarder by nature, (unless I get something off my wishlist that slots into a vertical/horizontal I'm building) I plan to open whatever I get on its night, and really enjoying having a good reason to tell my brain "No, you are not saving this one"

I actually do really like this idea, and was already considering it myself, though between wants and 'theme' options, I don't have as many "you'll want to cellar this" going into my target's box as I thought I would.
