First off, you wouldn't be who I know you to be if you didn't ask that question. To answer it, though I'm not sure why I'm bothering; no, a Like to both posts and I will probably just dq you (or whomever) for being a smartass.

Secondly, as a father (or for that matter 'adult'), I would think you'd have a better idea how long the human gestational period is. Your guess, were the baby conceived today, is a 10 month long pregnancy.

In other news, two boxes are now in FedEx's hands, one for the thread and one not. This box is not part of a trade, BIF, or LIF.

I guess I'm giving away my secret weapon here, but I learned during my wife's term that the average pregnancy is actually 10 months now, not 9. Humans are evolving and shit.

That's very odd... with that said, your guess was 10 months from TODAY. Typically guys wait longer than 13 seconds minutes to tell their internet friends about impregnating their wife..... At least the guys I know do.... although I can definitely see you coming to this thread with "Hey guys, I just banged and totally knocked up Mrs Almanac! High Five!"

funny you say this. i had a conversation with some women about this a while back. they maintained that a pregnancy was 10 months, and im like, youre full of shit, it has and always will be nine months. it is widely assumed that a month is 4 weeks (40 weeks / 4 weeks in a month = 10 months). well, there is only 1 month that is 4 weeks long, and that is february. every other month is 30 or 31 days, so most months are actually longer than 4 weeks. long story short, its actually 9 months, of roughly 280 days, however you want to look at it. just did some quick googling and im totally right. think of when you found out your wife was preggers. i know my wife got pregnant in november. daughter was born in august, which is 9 months later. women just want to be dramatic .

Even more odd for guys to tell the woman's husband 13 minutes after impregnanting his wife

This sounds more likely than a "new" gestational period; I've heard of women being a few days, even a week, late for their due date, but an entire month? We'd have a lot more murderous pregos out there if that was the case, let me tell you from experience.

LIF guesses notwithstanding, and I acknowledge that I started it, can we stop talking about pregnancy?

Having a doctor wife, I know that you're generally supposed to wait until the end of the first trimester until you tell people. It is sad because the reason is that there may be early complications. So, hopefully you telling us means that things are going great and this would be cause for drinking some good beer.

Beat me to it. That was a bold guess, though. Hoping Price is Right rules don't apply.

I'd answer this, but it might be too much of a hint as to when the due date is. I will say that we've been in that boat before, but I also am a pretty open book about things going on in my life (as if that wasn't obvious). So, take from that what you will about how far along she is, but I definitely am familiar with the reason why it's sad.

I Unfortunately don't have any stories about how or why I got into beer. All I can say, is that besides the weight gain... It was one of the best decisions of my life. Here is why. Meeting people from all walks of life from all over the place with different perspectives and heritage. I can meet any of you at a bar and have hours of conversations about just about anything (mainly about beer most of the time..)

I want to send a shout out to @Will_Edgar . The man is not only a great guy but a true gentleman. He bombed my office's porch today. You sir... are some thing else.

The rest of you are pretty awesome too

Glad you like it  I decided after about my 9th won LIF that I really needed to get off my ass and do one. I wanted my first to be pretty awesome, so I sat on this idea for a while; I didn't want it to be too far before the appointment, and 2 weeks seemed about right.

I totally agree with this post. I think it is a mix of being tired of chasing and the fact that we've (you are at 1200 here over two years, I am on 830 on untapped on 8 months) tried a lot of the best beers. Once you've tried a good amount of them it gets easier to pass on chasing something that likely won't be as good as something you have already had.

Ok............here's the situation. Let's say there is this guy who "may" live in a westerly direction in the same state I "might" live in. Let's also say that he's young......I mean he looks like he's 12. Let's call him Teve Rat. Let's also say that he is a struggling student with barely two nickels to rub together. Rumor has it that he makes "tomato soup" using ketchup packets 4 nights a week because he can't afford food. Let's also say that I didn't know how destitute he is. So I "may" have asked him to pick up a new bottle of something that comes with a "warning" that it contains something "real". Rumor has it that he gave blood 5 times to afford said bottle. I had no knowledge of this.

Now, being the reasonable fellow that I am, I tell him that I won't accept said bottle, unless I can "adequately" reimburse him which is my nature. I "may" have got a package together for him that includes something by a "Farm" on a Hill, and other delicious beverages.

Now this young lad is trying to rebuff my efforts to adequately compensate him! I think he must not be right in the head!!! I mean come on, even though he looks like he should be watching Nickelodeon.........rumor has it he is of legal drinking age and that he would like my humble attempt at payment. He recently texted me (must have been from a public phone somehow, because I know he can't possibly afford a phone) and says he is contemplating ninja dropping the bottle off without accepting a humble little token of thanks.

Help me talk sense into the boy!!!

    I mean come on..............
