Sorry for the multiple messages in a row, just keep remembering something else...
The Crown Valley Imperial Pumpkin Smash is the one beer that really had no reason being in the box as it's in now way local. However, we just randomly stumbled across this beer at a local bottleshare where the local beer store owner was at as well and we all liked it so well that he brought it into the store. Its probably the single beer that I've heard absolutely nothing about that I liked the most. It's probably one of my favorite pumpkin bees, and I'm with you in that I'm really not a pumpkin beer fan.

Genesis and Serenity are two of the easier to get sours from Wicked Weed, but mainly because they're two of the most popular. I prefer Oblivion, but its can be pretty polarizing, at least amongst my friends. Plus they keep bottling new stuff all the time. I swear I don't know how they have time to get all their labels approved by the TTB.

Also - combining with the comments of the Gourd Almighty/Good Gourd Almighty earlier in the thread, there actually is a beer called Surly Fest. Some people love it, I'm not a fan. I didn't include it (obviously)

Steel Toe is one of those places that's flown under the radar and is just putting out some awesome stuff. Size 7 and Size 12 are both awesome. I missed out on Steel Toe Before the Dawn because I just wasn't paying attention and I'm kicking myself for it.

I love all the New Glarus fruits. I usually try and keep at least 2-3 bottles of New Glarus fruits around the house. On this trip I brought back Strawberry Rhubarb, Apple Ale and Cranbic as well and just couldn't bring back enough to be able to send them to you. As it was I brought home two shippers and still had bottles that I had to shove in my suitcase  Too many of my friends think of me as their New Glarus hookup

And Darkness was the beer that I scrambled around and got at the last minute. I wasn't in town for Darkness Day and distro this year was tighter in previous years. By the time I got into town almost everywhere that I could reasonably get to without a car (which I normally don't have when I travel) where already sold out. I happened to find one place that I could get to that got their shipment late and I picked up their last three bottles over lunch time. Haven't tried this year's myself yet, but I've heard its drinking pretty awesome. Last year's I found to be sweet even after aging, so hopefully this one has evened out a bit.

Yeah... sorry :slight_frown: They were getting more back in stock the day after I was there, but I had to pick a day to have a car and I chose the wrong day... Such is life. For what it's worth, I think I like Golden Nugget as much as I like Pseudo Sue (though I've only had Pseudo Sue once and it was a couple months ago).

Definitely do this if possible to preserve one of your own bottles, I'd imagine the development of the souring agent and the maturation of the beer/barrel character would be very interesting to check in on not just in a year, but in 5. Well worth sitting on more than one if you can.

    I don't understand the relevance.

You must not know the "rules" of stout day. If you drink anything other than a stout you're never allowed to drink a stout again. Ok maybe I'll break the rules, or maybe I'll drink a couple stouts. Work in the morning so I can't get too crazy.

I do what I can. So much beer to try, so little time. I was in a meeting yesterday and while it was wrapping up someone asked if I'd been to any good tap rooms lately since they know I'm an avid craft beer enthusiast. I said it had a been a while since I'd been to a tap room since I hadn't been out since Saturday. For some reason the rest of the room cracked up at that

I really should have just gotten the six bottles, but I have so much beer at home right now (not even kidding... It's easily 100-150 bottles at the moment) that having that many of the same beer seemed like crazy talk.

Don't you hate and yet love at the same time that you have so many bottles and you think "how will I ever drink this all?" and "there is no way I am buying any more!". Lately, my passion has been winning out over my logic and I'm slowly losing any storage space I once had...
