I am SO jealous of you guys who can grow good beards. I have really dark hair (well, maybe a little grey now), and if I could grow it in I absolutely would. On the other hand, I am probably one of the oldest guys in this group and probably have more hair on my head than most of you :-)

I love that kind of boxes... that packing material is at least second use, by the looks of some of it, probably 3rd or 4th. Reduce, reuse, recycle! And what happens a lot is that FedEx reweighs the box by the time it arrives, so billing is updated even if tracking is not; but sometimes I get lucky. And really, don't worry about MHIF, it was a last-minute toss-in after I had the box all figured out anyway. I'm pretty confident its recipient will be pleased even without it. Especially since it's an unsolicited payback box.

Let me know when you do, if you get close enough to my neck of the woods on the way there, you could save me shipping TWICE by handing off your winnings AND @PA-Michigander's (he won the SWTFYW version of this LIF, and I owe him a growler as a result of the Eagles' shaming this past Sunday too). Absolutely -- you had reversed the way the lids were folded; when I opened it the second layer had the address label that @Kramerbarthomer had used to ship "box 3 of 3" to you!! I used to try and organize all my packing materials, but now I try and just recycle using whatever the last box had as much as possible and supplementing where necessary. I also tend to have a lower ratio of packing materials to bottles (not that I send more, I just tend to use smaller boxes -- I enjoy the challenge). And @mklisz and especially @UcDru have taught me the magic of shrinkwrap (or whatever that stuff is called).

 

I was very impressed with the size of box vs beers inside ratio you accomplished in our last trade. I tend to use boxes that are too big.

 

I just use Glad ClingWrap to secure bubble wrap to bottles/cans. Much cheaper than using tape.

I frankly just grab the first box I see that I'm sure will be big enough. I've sent out so many boxes lately that I'm FINALLY starting to run a little low and can't tailor the box to exactly how much is going in it, your box was a bit bigger than I would typically use for that amount of beer, but since it was so full of packing materials already, it worked just fine.

An unsurprising bummer. Some time soon though we'll need to meet up for a beer. I owe a visit to my best friend from college, and he's a Baltimore guy too, so maybe while I'm coming down I can either get there a bit early or not come directly home once I leave and we'll grab a couple brews. Unfortunately my buddy is not only not into craft, he's not really much of a drinker at all, so bringing him along is a losing proposition.

Yeah, I would, but I wouldn't want to drag him somewhere he doesn't want to be with the small amount of time he and I get to spend together these days.

Fortunately, he likes other things I like that aren't beer (golf, video games, eating, movies, sitting around bullshitting) so we never have a shortage of shit to do.
