I do enjoy Iniquity but can't find it easily which just goes to show that absence makes the heart [or taste buds] grow fonder.

I guess it doesnt matter much because they can be cellered, i just find it weird that they were bottled early early summer and now they just started popping up

I had southern tier live last night, it's their unfiltered hoppy pale ale. It was really really good, light citrus and light malt. It was really refreshing! The Gemini ipa is really good too.

Well if the you were drinking Southern Teir then it was a knock off like buying a Guccy watch. Southern Tier is a great brewery.

This just dropped at my local ....

3 diff. single varietal pale ales (cascade/centennial/columbus = "C-Rations") - they're all 4.8%, so single pales. Bottled 12 days ago, so I'll jump into these after I hit some stouts for the "day" today. Dig the brown paper label design.

A reliable source that deals with ST told me LAST year that ST uses mostly extracts at this point to flavor Pumking because they are producing an exponentially ******ed amount of it. I dont really care, because I've always looked passed that beer. I mean hey, chicks love it and thats cool and all, but its vastly over-rated. I usually have one a season, but this year I cant take two steps near anywhere with a modest beer selection without tripping over 150 cases of the stuff.
Though good thing is a lot of places have dropped it to $6.50 a bottle!
Also talking to three of the brewers during Pittsburgh Craft Brew Week, they brewed more Pumking this year than all of their beers combined during 2008. That in itself is an obscene thing, but you know what? It sells! Cant rip on them for wanting to brew something they make boat loads of money off of.

ON TOPIC: Exceptionally stoked about the 2xPresso. I love coffee stouts. ST already does an outstanding job with all their blackwater stuff, especially mokah, and the sorely missed Jahva :slight_frown:

I usually like everything they do. But Compass & Krampus don't do much for me....

Apparently Rum Barrel Aged Pumking is making its way through SE Michigan. I missed what supply was at a local shop yesterday. I wish I would have known it was on the shipping docket, as that sounds particularly amazing.

I'm a huge fan of ST, especially with 2XMAS and Old Man Winter just released. My 'frig almost always has 2XIPA in it, my "go to". Loved the 2XONE and 2XRYE was amazing (wish I bought more than 2 sixes of that). I will be on the lookout for the 2XPRESSO. While I'm not very experienced craft drinker by any means, I put Southern Tier in my top 3 brewers that I've yet to have a "so-so" beer from.

Wait...a rum barrel-aged version of Pumking? Is this a national release? Did I miss the window to grab a few of these?

Fixing to crack open a Choklat Friday night. Geeked to try it as I'm a huge fan of Mokah.

Local place had a single 22oz bottle limit and were sold out in a matter of a couple hours, so I'm not sure what their allotment was.

I know, right? I wish I knew where else I could pick some of this up (today's snow isn't helping my ideas of post-work exploration).

I was hoping maybe the 2X Presso would just be a re-branded Jahva, put unfortunately it's not to be...as it's much lower ABV.

It looks like Oat and Backburner are no longer listed on their website either.

Southern Tier makes solid beers. Im looking forward to Brit Hop. I think that's going to be a spring release but I'm not sure.

Southern Tier was great back in the day when the beer scene wasn't as competitive. Hoppe and Unearthly were my go to beers, but I don't think they have kept up with the rapid increase in the quality of beer out there.

I always enjoyed oat, but I can't figure out what anybody sees in Pumking or Creme Brûlée.

I'm curious to try the 2xpresso.
