San Diego trip Friday 11/21

I hear Societe is fantastic. Alpine is a pretty small place.

 

Probably want to post this in the Pacific forum not southwest.

Societe and alesmith are my favorites. Several other good breweries very close to them as well

Near Stone there's Lost Abbey/Port, Churchills and Rip Current

 

Alpine is small but i would highly recommend going there for lunch, great food!

 

Definitely make a stop at Toronado - one of the best beer bars I've ever been to!

 

Are you stalking me? I'm going to San Diego this Friday as well.

According to the locals, Council, Toolbox and RipCurrent are the new hot breweries to check out. I'll report back

 

I will be going out there on Friday as well until Tuesday

What are your plans out there?

 

I'm there for a conference. So I'll be stuck at the convention center for a big chunk of time, but am hoping to get out Friday night, Saturday afternoon/evening, and then I should be free much of Sunday too. Would love to meet up!

 

Just came back from a trip. I can really second Societé. Another good bar/dinner place is Tiger Tiger, and do consider the Stone Liberty Station, much closer to Downtown and almost as nice as the Brewery in Escondido.

Also DO NOT use cabs. Use Uber instead. It was like, less than half the cost, and better service.

 

If you're downtown and want to hit a killer bottle shop, swing by Krisp's. When I was out there over the summer, they had quite the selection out there. You might have to dig around a little, but you might find some gems.

I was just there a couple weeks ago. We hit up 9 breweries. Societe is great. They have good IPAs and stouts. Alpine (for me) is one of the best there is. Make reservations at Stone if you want to eat dinner there or be prepared for a looooooong wait.

 

I am at the point that I just want to skip Stone.

I am assuming there is at least a taproom there that I can drink the beer without too pretentious of a feel?

 

Maybe you wanna come over and hide in my closet while i bang my woman like i do every day? Then we can switch...

 

There is a taproom there, but if you're there during peak hours, you're gonna wait there too. We bolted after one beer because there wasn't even much room to stand (which is saying a lot because it's F'N HUGE). We went down the road to The Lost Abbey/Port, but they were having a private party. No amount of begging worked to let us in. FAIL.
