When I think of a warmer I think that it should be more than 6% but it's still pretty damn good!

Rich chocolate roast with sweet, sweet raspberries. Probably their best non-barreled Backstage to date.

One of those first sips that lets you know you're in for something special.

I'm busy drinking my Heady Topper clone before I begin dry-hopping it with a total of 1/2 a pound of hops.
It is still a little sweet because the gravity is sitting at 1.020 after 2.5 weeks of primary, but I am on a time table and unfortunately can't let it sit for a long, comfortable fermentation for a month. Hopefully racking it will wake the yeasties back up and they will munch on the sugars a little more :-/

Either way, it tastes PRETTY DAMN CLOSE to the real thing...just a little sweeter. It tastes like literal alcoholic hop juice.

Long day of beer drinking at a measured pace. Started off with the aforementioned Negra Modelo with lunch. Then, went out to dinner with my best friend, and enjoyed a couple of Dean's Beans Coffeehouse Porter by Berkshire.

Then, we split a Rodenbach Grand Cru I had bought him; he already loved the red label (also on my recommendation), but was blown away by the Grand Cru. Then we cracked a bottle of his homebrew Dunkelweizen, bottled 5 days ago. Not bad at all!

Now I'm home and sharing a Long Trail Imperial Pumpkin. I'm not a big pumpkin beer fan, but this is a very, very good beer. Their Brush and Barrel series is, in general, excellent.

    Cheers, all; happy Monday!

I went to a wine tasting at my regular store on Saturday night with my wife and spent a bit of money to keep her happy. I told my beer guy that I was going to my moms in NC this week and asked him if he wanted me to bring him back some Hop Drop. He said wait here I've got something for you, went to the cooler in the back, gave me a 4pk of Hop Drop! Very cool.
