Started off with Sam Adams Cherry Wheat then went ahead with Sam Adams East West Kolsch and then Sam Adams Belgian Session (all of them from "Summer Seasonals" case). None of them worth a lot of effort IMO. Cheers!

Went to Tribes earlier this evening. Had a Founders Cerise, Tyranena Bitter Woman, and DFH Festina Peche. Just had a Schlitz at home a bit ago. Pretty damn solid. (I dare not let it warm up tho lol.)

Fighting off a cold. Need something cold since it is soup outside. Might as well have the closest thing I have to water. 3.8% session ale...

Gentlemen and ladies, I have had my first Zombie Dust! Today was my buddy's birthday so we enjoyed that along with a Chimay Blue! Excellent dinner from my wife as usual!

Homebrew IPA in my glass and Godspeed You Black Emperor on the stereo. Perfect end to a stressful day.

I was just kidding, I respect good music even if it was way before my time.

Stopped by the Pyramid Scheme in Grand Rapids after dinner for one pint,

Many many choices for half off Short's pint night, but I went with the Aorta Ale. Anyone had the Thundeur? Sounded interesting but the boyfriend was restless and only wanted to stay for one pint.

Now, Sierra Nevada Torpedo at home.

Fresh off a 5-course beer dinner featuring Green Flash & starring none other than Green Flash brewmaster Chuck Silva. Menu of the beers and pairings... signed by ol' Chuck himself:

I just returned from a Short's tap takeover where I enjoyed: 2011 and 2012 Liberator (I preferred the 2012 but most seemed to prefer the 2011), Sour Puss, Freedom of '78, Thundeur, Bourbon Huma, Bourbon Barrel Sustenance, Pineapple Side-Down, Prolonged Enjoyment, The Curl and Anniversary Ale. They also had Kolsch 45 (which is damn good), Nicie Spicie, ControversiALE, Good Humans, Raisin Apollo (which I like but most of you do not) and The Golden Rule.

This is damn nice. This is a micro brewery in Belgium. Very nice complexity with a near perfect balance of complex maltiness with spicy esters. Very drinkable.

This is a beauty. This was bottled in Jan 2011, but it held up. Damn nice complexity and fairly big on flavor. I would buy a fresh bottle of this in a heartbeat.

Holy shit. This is pretty much the example of what I believe a Black IPA should be. Most breweries: "hey lets hop the shit out of this and add black malt!" The result is an overly hopped beer that hides the roasted flavors. This doesn't. Near perfect balance with huge robustness. Obvious Columbus and Centennial.

Needless to say their new album will blow minds(whenever it comes out)

Just returned from a Short's tap takeover in Holly, MI. Best beer of the night was Prolonged Enjoyment, worst was Pineapple Side-Down (I had high hopes).

Sticking with the old stand-by tonight, Goose Island's Sofie. Fresh, it's okay but my store is stuffed with her from 2011 and I have to say, she's better with some age...like most women.
