I usually only post in NBS on Sundays but saw this week's theme and had to post both of these here as well since both are dark. 4.5 years in Cleveland and I hadn't shared an evening with Doris. I enjoyed the original though the bitter notes were a bit strong. The BA version smoothed her out and was a beautiful drink. Two rounds with Doris and I'm feeling great. Cheers!

Can it be that it's just me and @Broanoke and @Vukusich (aka Big Ol' Tiddies:wink:) are the only one's having some Narwhal tonight so far?

Still got one of these 2014's left to hold onto for another year or so. Or until I can't control myself, whichever comes first.
Got some more "black" tunes for your listening pleasure

I know! I know!! They're all Danzig tunes! Deal with it!

    Cheers!

Two week old Union Jack, so I couldn't resist. I've never had HT, but somebody can send me a couple of cans if they have some to spare, not that I've seen any auspicious displays today![IMG]

    Day of the Dark starters:

2013 release. Absolutely fantastic right now. Huge molasses, toffee, toast, raisin, plum, fig, apple, leather, light chocolate, touch of peat smoke. Some woodiness. Amazingly well balanced and complex malt flavors. This is one of my absolute favorite American brewed Scotch ales.

2012-13 edition again this week. Deep dark chocolate and coffee with some molasses, raisins, and a touch of licorice. I never pass up pre-aged BCS for 9 dollars at the store.

    Cheers

Is the Samichlaus better aged? I had the '13 about month or two ago and I had to choke it down.
