How do you keep your glasses clean?

Wow, I have NEVER heard this one before. Mine goes in the DW probably once a week or so. Other than that, I just rinse it out good after each use and let'er dry.

 

i have a zero gravity chamber that is light less. the wife and I thought it would be a nice addition to the house. i keep all my glassware and IPAs in there. i cannot understand why anyone would do it any other way.

 

Wash by hand with a mild soap and rinse well. Otherwise put them in the dishwasher WITHOUT any soap in it. It will still get them pretty clean with how hot it gets.

 

Mild dish soap, washed by hand. Rinse with hot water followed by a rinse with very cold water. Air dried. I have been pretty much fine since I started with this method.

 

I just use steaming hot water, for the most part..

I've never had an issue using dish soap. The only reason people have issues with residue is simply from inadequate rinsing. I use hot water (ie - turn on the hot water only) to rinse all my glasses, of which I do multiple times, then use either a microfiber cloth or paper towel to dry so it doesn't leave behind any lint.

 

Mine go in the dishwasher, then I take them out and rinse them and let them air dry.

 

Air dry dont leave water spots ?

Kidding..if my wife read that she would beat me.

 

Hot water, duh. Sometimes I use soap if it has been sitting around and got a bit sticky. Otherwise, I just rinse it out real good with very hot water and let it dry out. I have put them in dishwasher several times. Never had a problem with head retention or lacing, but I will probably refrain to do so in the future due to what you all are saying.

 

i use hot water and soap and rinse like crazy in cold water.... then let air dry... but before i use them i polish with a paper towel inside and out... i started doing this with my scotch glasses and now with any good drinking glass...

 

If you let them dry rightside-up, probably, but not if you let them dry upside-down.

You don't need anything fancy at all, it's just a matter of making sure there's nothing inside of your glass other than the drink you pour in it. Get some wash cloths specifically for washing your beer glasses so that no food residues from your standard wash cloth make it onto your good glassware, use plain detergent, dry off the outside, shake out some of the water from the inside, then leave your glasses top-down on a drying mat or cupboard liner.

 

I wash my glasses with a drop of regular liquid dish soap and a glassware dedicate sponge. Nothing fancy, but you should try to avoid washing your glasses with the same sponge that you used to wash your lasagna pan the night before. People who simply rinse their glasses with water and don't use soap are disgusting.

 

HOT WATER rinse, maybe a lil dish soap depending on the stickiness, followed by hot rinse, cold rinse and dry with paper towel. I don't use the dish washer for them at all.

 

^this. I usually hand wash them with painfully hot water and dish-cleaning soap, I have a separate sponge that I never use for anything except beer glasses. Just use a drop of soap and really apply a lot of pressure to the glass and scrub. Also air dry only since drying with a rag or paper towels will leave fibers or particles in the glass that will wreck your head retention.

 

Hand wash with soap and a good rinse in hot water and air dry.
