aww man, fedex guy just arrived, I got excited thinking it was my not summer sixer, but it was a package for someone else

 

I'm not saying I'm your target - but that certainly fits my weather pattern and I would hold off on shipping. The high around 28 is fine - any overnight lows below 20 I get really leary... I currently have three boxes on hold. Just won't risk it...

Not sure quite I had a couple days ago but it made me super sick and got in the way of posting pr0n for my Not Summer Sixer. @ninjembro sent a great box of local brews and something you may have heard of from IL.

Troegs Scratch Beer - is it the fresh hop ale? From what I found it looks like it; just want to be sure
Liquid Hero Adam's Stout - sounds fun. I think the cans were frozen but they looked fine, so cool.
Troyes Mad Elf - had it recently and happy to have a bigger bottle of it!
Sunny Side Up - Addicted to this stuff!
Sly Fox Ichor - new to me. Looking forward to it.
BCBCS - megawant. This is why I like this group. I did not get to buy any Bourbon County this year because of some problems with our local distributor. Somehow, through trades, some of you reaching out and BIF rounds, I was able to get a 2014 BCBS, BCBWS and now BCBCS.
Troegs Jovial - new to me and corresponding to my style of brews. I should be very happy with this.

Glad everything got there safe and sound.

The scratch beer is impending descent, a RIS. It's, to my knowledge, now an annual release, but they still release it under the scratch label (despite kegs having their own label, not sure why they haven't created one for bottles yet...)

Wasn't sure if you had the mad elf yet, but a lot of people seem to enjoy getting it, so figured I'd get one of those.

Jovial is pretty good. I'm not huge on the style, but I enjoyed it. Picked it up intending to sent it, but had to try it first to make sure I wasn't sending complete crap

The SSU was kinda meant to be an "extra". I had bought it planning on sending it, then I went back and stalked your last box that night. Ended up including it anyway.

Adam's Stout is the one I said "should be rated higher, but not extraordinarily high". Careful, the carb seems pretty high on those cans (as evidenced from the one I opened last night...)

Ichor was the only one I wasn't 100% sure on, in terms of style preference. I've had it once before but it was forever ago and I couldn't recall much about it. There was initially going to be a pizza boy crowler in its place, but sadly some troubles came up the day I was going to stop by to get it, and I had to go to a more local shop and picked that one up to try to round out the styles in the box a little bit. At that point the box was already packed except for that and everything was on its side so I didn't want to sit on the box too much longer. Apologies in advance if it doesn't stack up to the rest of the beers.

And lastly, figured you'd appreciate the BCBCS even if it isn't "local"

Look for a box in early Feb (I've got some good beer travelling in the next few weeks so want to throw in a couple of those if the hunt goes well).

Plus it is cold as crap here.

Alright, I know I said no LIF until February, but I want to be part of the clan, and I picked up the perfect beer for it today. To win:

1) I travel to a lot of shitty places (no offense to those that live in those places, but I never get to go to Chicago or some other awesome place). Name the place I go the most ( not in nj)
2) name its signature candy (hint: it is more famous for a different food item)
3) name the craft brewery that I tried first (brewery has been around awhile, you've probably never heard of it, in the same state but not city as answer to #1)
4) name one of my favorite 2 bands (hint: both are active)

The prize : a brewery only release related to one of my answers, and some other random shit

When: it might take a couple of weeks to ship, but you'll get it. It's also really cold here.
