    While watching the movie Boyhood last night, I used my French Press for the first time. Took a can of Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale and steeped 1/2 a can with grapefruit zest, a chunk of grapefruit and 2 tsp of ginger for 3 minutes, then pressed and poured into a thistle glass with the other rest of the beer in the can. Wish I'd taken a picture. Came out exactly as you'd expect - a hazy orange, somewhat bitter with a slight ginger flavor. The ginger was spot on and a nice add. I'd give the experiment a C+ or B. It was fun and I will try something different tonight.

    After the movie I cracked open this Quad from Pipeworks. Good beer!

    Been out of circulation for a week with a sick computer, (all better now). Enjoyed these new to me beers while out of commission. Half Acre Heyoka IPA (under gone a name change, I hear), Firestonr Walker Wookey Jack, Ballast Point Dorado, Ballast Point Tongue Buckler, Arcadia Big Dick's Olde Ale, Twisted Pine Revival Carrot IPA, and Cigar City Humidor Series IPA.

    Hmm, I was not aware of a beer named Alden but will have to acquire at some point for my son of the same name. He's only 16 so I have awhile before I want to share a DIPA with him, but good to know it exists!
