Finally pulled the trigger on this one. Delicious at age 4.

It was a weekend of experimentation. Saturday night: First up was a Sculpin IPA infused with 1/2 mandarin orange and some mint leaves. Next time I'll steep for 20-30 minutes rather than just 10.

I've not had a Grapefruit Sculpin so I made my own. 1/2 of a chopped up grapefruit french pressed into a can of Sculpin made for a wonderful beer.
I had 1/2 a bomber of Pipeworks Quad left over from the night before so I chopped up 2 figs, added them to the bottle and let them marinate for an hour. I think this made the Quad better.

Before going to bed I poured a Founders Breakfast Stout into a mason jar, added 1/2 chopped up vanilla bean and sealed up the jar.

With this beautiful SoCal weather lately, I've just been in an IPA and Saison mood. 75F today, and mid 70s for the west of the week.

Sunday afternoon, I'm watching football and it's time to taste the Vanilla FBS. Opened the mason jar to a loud pop. I'd been warned the vanilla bean would create extra carbonation. This was tasty and I will do it again soon.[IMG]
Next up was a recipe from Youtube. Take a good imperial stout, add cinnamon, ground coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla extract and a hot pepper. I added 1 chopped up jalapeno. Steep for an hour in a sealed mason jar and then press.

This beer was excellent. You get all the flavors plus a healthy burn in the back of your mouth from the pepper. Next time I may back the pepper off a bit! All those flavors, definitely a desert beer. And I will definitely do this one again.

Sea Hag IPA NEBCO. Ghandi Bot is upper echelon. Sea Hag is excellent. A massively hopped
"CaliVerm" style IPA that almost has the body of a DIPA. A full flavored tropical hop bomb that goes down easy @ 6.5 ABV. I take this over some DIPA 's. Just a delicious brew.[IMG]

General Resin IIPA. Watch out for these guys...this is right up there with the best big IPAs I've enjoyed in this neck of the woods!

    Finishing off this silky goodness...

Lots of cocoa nib, hints of almond, a trace of coconut...

The way that NE slaughtered the Colts, and the way Seattle barely beat the Pack (and at the cost of a Richard Sherman arm injury) doesn't bode well for the Seahawks in the Superbowl... :flushed:
    Well, we'll see, eh?
