Favorite YouTube beer show?

I agree with you guys on Beer Geek Nation, I love watching and I'm a fan... positivity is great, but he's just not critical enough in his reviews most of the time.

 

Beer Geek Nation is my favorite followed by Gregs beer reviews. I love BGN because Chris is to the point and does a great job at hitting all the notes about the beer in under 4 minutes. Greg on the other hand is funny and I love his catch phrases but I tend to skip around in his videos. I watched Darwin for a while but now it's just occasionally.

This thread turned me onto Gregs Beer Review. Found myself binge watching videos yesterday.

 

Was Better Beer Authority - Love their blind taste test's. Took the hype aspect out of the equation.
Now its Gregs Beer reviews - This is loves every sip he gets and does it for the love of beer. Fun guy to watch review beers.

 

No love for Chad? He popped my youtube beer review cherry. Just a very simple, down-to-earth beer review. I should pop in if I'm ever in the Albany area. Wait, that sounds a bit creepy...

Greg also does great work. I wish he wouldn't take 10 minutes before he actually opens the beer, but otherwise he's terrific. I would love to have a beer with him.

Beer Geek Nation is great because the videos are so short. The good/bad part is that he pretty much only does walez, so he's saying a lot of the same things over and over again. "Just awesome, awesome stuff." "I have GOT to give this one an A."

TMOH is also good, once you get used to his accent. His reactions are just perfect.

He's alright but he can be a real smartass about things. And I find it rather funny that his profile on amazon where he sells a book he co-wrote says he's been drinking craft for 10 years which is total BS. When he started reviewing beers on youtube, which was about 5 years ago, he didn't know anything about beer. A lot of people in the youtube world had to school him on beer. He finally figured out that he really didn't know anything about it but I give him props now, he knows a lot more about it, but I would never buy anything he's selling, he kind of rubs people the wrong way.

 

I will have to agree Darwin is pretty solid. Appears to know his stuff and is concise. There are some really annoying ones and one guy who is just pitiful Keith I think is his name. He looks like a deer in the headlights most of the time. And don't get me started on the Imbibe hour guy, has to be the most annoying of all.

RIP, great shows that were a regular part of my life.

 

I like Greg's reviews. He reminds me of Painting With Bob Ross. I like the simple, relaxed reviews, all while being very informative.

 

i suppose that's a good analysis of it. Greg is alright but he really does need to stop ranting on and on about putting a date on the bottle. It took him a while to figure out that beers that are 8% ABV or higher don't need a date on the bottle. Bottle conditioned beers don't really need them either. Although, I do agree with him that breweries need to date them, I just can't figure why he feels like he has to spend 8 or 9 minutes on every video talking about dates.

 

You guys should also check out Whatcheers if you haven't already. I forgot to mention him in my last post but he's a super nice, genuine guy and has an excellent way with words. Take a stop over at his channel.

Erie Better Beer Bureau. Loved watching them even before I met Morey at Voodoo. Now I like 'em even more having been able to drink with them a few times over the past year. Great guys who really know their beer.

The thing about this Beer Tube Community is that it isn't really about white whales and epic tasting notes when it all comes down to it.

I've found a personal group of friends on here.

Something that most people that don't do it won't understand, and a few that are in it take for granted since they have very small minds and self centered personalities.

Check everyone out at least once, you may enjoy our reviews and you may not.
