Latest Pipeworks Releases and Updates (2018)

I know WLV and Bottles & Cans were both sold out by the time I got home around 6:30. B&C said they sold out before 6 and WLV said similar. Both only got one case a piece and they said it flew off the shelves.

So time to keep the hunt alive.

 

My sister went to Binny's Lincoln Park at about 4pm yesterday and they couldn't sell her one because they weren't in the system yet.

They'll likely be gone by the time she gets there this evening, so if anyone happens to grab an extra and is willing to send one to me in return for some NYC-area distro, please shoot me a PM.

 

Downers Grove Binny's sold out in less than 15 minutes.

 

The back of the Crimson Snapper bottle has two batch numbers, so wondering if they are just sending to the entire distribution footprint in smaller quantities instead of sending more quantity to the weekly delivery stores.

 

Weirdly, I was told that the Binnys downtown (south loop and grand) still hasn't received their drop yet.

 

Aaaannnddd it just hit in Naperville.

 

I got to WLV at...530 ish, and bought the 2nd to last bottle. The dude said they got 2 cases in, so I don't know what's true (it also looks like they had it on the web store, so I wonder if they only sold one case in-store).

It's not too dissimilar to Sure Bet, so if you loved that one, you'll love this one. I'll admit though, that this type of demand for these beers is a little ridiculous.

 

Yeah he said it was also on the web store, so it looks like they divided it between the two.

 

The Malloys in Glen Ellyn was supposed to have it out today, but it sure wont last long. It sounded like everywhere got only one or two cases.

 

They always seem to get their's late.

 

I luckily snagged the last one at Naperville Binny's. Less than 30 minutes after the tweet went out. I don't think I have the energy to attempt multiples of this one, but I'm glad I was able to score one.

 

I just hate that people who genuinely want to drink some of these gems get left out because other people who want to trade them are closer to the city to buy them up first

Sure did. I thought I would have been lucky as I was in the lobby of my building heading out to grab a bite when I got the tweet it was in. Takes me ~10mins to walk there. I guess I walk too slow as I missed it. Drives me bananas with these one case per store allotments. Why bother... It's not like we're in the middle of nowhere here and we all know how insane the chicagoland beer scene is now. Unless you can get to Binny's in under 10mins at the drop of a hat, forget it. I think I'm done chasing for a while.

 

I blame it all on Pipeworks.. Stop making great beer !

 

I really enjoyed The Walrus & The Carpenter but haven't seen it since the week it was released. Anyone know if it's still on any shelves?

PDubs, any chance of this being brewed again? With 40 pounds of oysters used to brew it, I wasn't very optimistic it would be a regular.

 

Just grabbed one from LP. Few left.

 

Fast would be an understatement - truck pulled in and they sold two bottles to the people asking about it.
Lucky for me - I was person #1, this will be one of those releases that you will just have to luck into finding!

 

Crimson snapper is the truth. Blood orange plays extremely well with the citra. Pick that shit up.
