It's a damn shame this is the same day as Huna day. I think I'll probably do alright at Huna day tho...

Im going to be in Chicago for a couple hours Tuesday before heading up to WI.

Would love to pick up some Pipeworks.

I land at O'Hare. Is there a shop that regularly carries multiple varieties? Looking for my best chance of snagging some in a short amount of time. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

Are you flying or driving up to WI? If driving, lots of places along the route to buy PW. If not, Prestige Wine & Spirits in Des Plaines might be a good option. 3-4 miles from ORD.

Yeah just go to any Binnys and they're guaranteed to have what you need. The small mom and pop shops above will also set you up.

Grab a Citra while you're in. It'll be worth it.

Shite. Can't think of anything near o'hare and have no reason to. I do know that Capones is about 10 minute walk from the Addision blue line, and Vas Foremost is less than 2 min from the California stop. Oh, you're renting and driving. never mind!
Beer Temple: cos it's a supremely easy in and out from the Dan Ryan and they should have a wide array of other Chicago only breweries you should also do the sharities with.
Belmont exit, go East, look for California avenue (six way light) immediately after a burger king and abandoned ace hardware. Just past California avenue right into the alley. PARK. While yer at it. Lunch up yerself at Kumas which is due west on Belmont. To go out, head South on California to Dan Ryan and get outta town!

Most stores mentioned above will have up to 5 or 6 kinds and they will all be new batches. Good luck with your hunt!

15 or 16 kinds is probably more accurate.

I always try to make a pilgrimage to Beer Temple when I'm in Chicago. Definitely worth a stop.

Well you guys are lucky. I never see that much around the city. Any Crimson Snapper on the shelves? I'll jump in my car right now!

Yeah the highly sought after shit still goes insanely quick (like quit your job and just hang out at binnys all day every day quick) but we have a very reliable source for all of the Ninjas, Abductions, etc...

Sorry that wasn't clear, I had said in an earlier post that it's the Buffalo Grove Binny's. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they have all of those beers on the shelves right now (although I do think maybe Mint Abduction, Mocha Abduction, and Orange Truffle Abduction were there a week or so ago??), I'm saying that when they come out they tend to be around long enough that you don't have to drop everything and run over to Binny's the moment they come in. I also like the Liquor Barn in Wheeling for Pipeworks as well although sometimes their stuff gets old and frankly they always look at me like I'm a piece of shit whenever I go in there so it's not my first stop.

I thought I'd post here and ask if there are any collectors of old PW's bottles interested in some emptys. I've been collecting and saving a unique first batch bottle for a very long time but am running out of space. Sadly, I need to retire some and was just going to put them in the recycling but if anyone is interested let me know.
