    A 64oz growler is exactly 4 pints (16x4=64). Cheers!

I believe that falls under the Get Rid of Bombers option.

Have no issue with them. Been stuck too often with 6 packs of beer I never wanted to drink, so they work for me nicely.

I wish every beer came in 12 or 16 oz bottles and I didn't always have to buy a 4 or 6 pack.

Traditional brown glass growlers have a 64 oz. fill line. Around my parts, they tend to fill right up to the top of the entire glass. So you gain about 4 oz. That combined with serving into shaker pints most of the time, and sharing pours, each person probably ends up with about 14 oz. of beer in each pour. So we end up with about amounts to 12 oz. of beer, thus what appears like a 5th glass.

No bar gives you exactly 16 oz. in a shaker, so we look at it from a bar perspective. 5 glasses of beer for a cheap price. I love me some growlers.

No one tends to measure things anyways. I bet there is a growler design out there that really stretches the ounces. The mini keg growlers seemed to have held 5, maybe 6 additional ounces .

22's are okay, I prefer 12 ounce bottles. I would like breweries to offer high end beers in 4-packs. I would love to see Parabola and Sucaba in a 4-pack.

Not trying to go back to the 40 oz. variant. My thug years are behind me. Wait, I hear Mobb Deep playing in the background...

Seriously, at this point, I would prefer 12 oz. bottles as the above poster stated. It works well.

I wouldnt want bombers to go to 40 ounces because by the time I got to that 4th or 5th 8 oz. pour, my beer would be too warm. I generally get about 3 pours out of a 22 oz depending on which glass I use, and if it's a high ABV beer, it takes me a while to get through it. I can't imagine doing 40 ounces of a 9% IPA. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to keep putting the 40 oz back in the fridge, or sticking it in a bucket of ice.

Wasn't this beaten to death in the 32oz. Sucks thread? Don't get wrong, I'm a fan of any size serving...

I really like the large bottle format but like some have said they are a ripoff. I think 40 oz bottles would be a bad idea imagine this you're at the store ah give me a pack of smokes a bag of skittles oh and give me a 40 of World wide stout. I mean it would be like drinking 2 bottles of wine.

Hmm... Changed vote to "I don't buy bombers" from "Get rid of bombers" after some soul searching. 22oz bombers are generally a poor value; the price per ounce is a damn ripoff. As far as I can tell, any 22oz package and over is the same way. The only place I see for them that makes sense is one-offs and maybe limited edition stuff, but only because they take up less shelf space (more efficient to distro perhaps?). Otherwise, I see absolutely no problem with 12oz bottles/cans. Want a bombers worth of beer? Open 2. Don't want an entire bomber? Open 1. Want to get hammered? Crush a sixer. Want to share? Give your buddy 1. As far as drinking scenarios go, a 12oz container just seems to make a lot of sense.
