Just got in line at about 9:30, a guy in front of me did a head count and I'm about 145 out not counting saved spots. Looks like the rain deterred some people. Looks like I'll just miss the first wave.

The rain is also a lot worse today than it was on Friday.

Does anybody know what time Younger kicked the past few nights?

12:30 now and I'm about 75 out. I'm guessing alot of saved spots and locals getting in the back door. It's 130 capacity, we'll see how strictly they enforce the 3 hour limit. Anyone know how it was done Friday and Saturday? Do they clear out the whole bar or are they pretty lax on it?

To sum it up, got here at 9:30 and just got in at 2:30. 5 hour wait.

Not too awful. Did you notice them enforcing 3 youngers per and also the 3 hour limit?

Yes, the wrist band you get when you walk in has 3 tear away tickets for your Younger orders. As far as the 3 hours they are not too crazy about it. When you get in everyone gets a table, no one was standing. Our waitress kindly mentioned we were just over our 3 hours and let us finish our beers.

I've followed PtY many years, and similar to JM, have stopped seeking it out in the last few, but I predict that in the next 1-2 years you see a substantial decrease in the- for lack of a better term- "PtY clusterf***." I think last year it reached its pinnacle in Santa Rosa and this year looks to be just slightly less. See it decrease more and more in the coming years as top tier breweries such as Toppling Goliath, Hill Farmstead, etc etc crop up and take some of the attention away from those who came before. Not that it'll go back to being able to walk into Hollingshead's a day or three after their keg was tapped and get multiple half liter pours, but a decline nonetheless.

I predict it will be crazier next year if there are no torrential floods in the forecast.

I've been thinking the same thing for a few years now, but it just seems to get crazier and crazier every year. As others have suggested, the weather may have been a deterrent this year, as it was really raining pretty hard on Saturday and Sunday (from what I saw).

Your observations about younger, it seems to me, should be even more applicable to elder. Yet the demand just seems to go up and up every year. As you probably know, RR had to pull out of Washington all together a couple of years ago, and this past year RR has stopped sending bottles up to Oregon (we only get draft elder now). I've even seen purchasing restrictions tightened at the brewpub. Most of the time you're allowed to buy up to a case, but there have been a couple of times I stopped by when the purchase limit was two 6 packs.

IMO, your observations and comments make complete sense, but at least so far, I don't feel as if I've seen any slow down in the demand or fervor. Still hoping for it one of these days though... :-)

Drove by RRBC at 4:30pm on Sunday. About 100 people in line.
Drove up to Bear Republic then back to RRBC around 9pm. Waited 20-30 minutes and IN.
About an hour later there was no line for the rest of the night.
    BOOM.

yes they were. don't think it ran out.
originally, we were planning to hit it Monday morning and drove by anyway; 200+ people in line.

I think M-Wed after about 8/9pm should be mellow.

I was able to get in after 20 minutes on release day by arriving around 9pm last year. If you're not intent on getting fucked up during the day, it's a lot easier to get at night.

Yeah... 1-2 years may have been a bit of an overstatement.
