Hmm....maybe I'm crazy, I'll give it another shot in a day or two and see if I change my mind.

There's been a lot of discussion about this batch. It's the both the first batch if Jai Alai AND the first batch of White Oak done at Brew Hub. Wayne has stated that he thinks its the best batch yet. A number of people have said they love how balanced the flavors are. I had it today and felt that it was definitely less white Oak on the front end. Not as assertive and sweet as previous batches. I will say that as it warmed it really started to shine. In previous batches, I found that white oak could become cloyingly sweet if I let it sit too long. I'll need to try some from the can (had it on draft at the brewery today) so I can more accurately compare it to past batches since I usually drink it from the can (rather than on draft)

White oak has always gotten more aromatic and oaky as it warmed, but I'm used to that flavor up front. I've had this beer many many many times. Since one of the first batches. It was definitly different. Very little aroma from a cold pour, and that oaky aftertaste was missing. It was also much hoppier then usual. The oak tylocally mellows the hops to the point of no existence. Like I said, maybe I got a bad 4 pack, picked up another one today. So maybe I'll have better luck next time. I'll post back later

I don't know I felt like the oakiness was stronger than I remember from the last batch. It's realy hard to judge something though on memory. I cracked a can open I picked up from the tasting room today and I felt like it was at least as good as the last couple batches if not better.

Drinking a cold one now, there's definitely less oak in the nose and up front in the taste than the slightly warmer one earlier.

The fridge at ccb is packed full of wo jai Alai, moon gun, strawberry shortcake, tbbw double ipa and puppy breath. Only thing with a limit is the wo jai, which is 1 case pp.

Does anyone know if they sell cans at BrewHub too? I haven't made it out there yet so I don't know what's up, but it's closer for a beer run than CCB is.

Had one last night. Agree less oak on the front end and it tasted hoppier than previous batches. However, as others have said once it warms a little the other flavors come out and by the end of my glass I was loving it again.

Yeah, but I want all that oak up front!! I don't want to wait until it warms!

Ok. So I opened another can from a seperate 4 pack. Same can date, but about an hour difference. (2/11/15 at 19:37 to be exact) This can was much better. More oak on the nose and a bit more on taste (it's still ice cold). It's still hoppier then I'm used too, but that may not be seen as a negative to some.

    Crisis averted.

I've always said this beer is better with a little age on it.

This is by far my favorite batch. So much more balanced in flavor and not as sweet. Love it.

Any left in Orlando? TW on Colonial & Millennia are out, and ABC on OBT, S.Orange, and WP said they're out. Can't believe I missed this thread last week! Ah well, was traveling for work.

Got some at the liquor store on West Sand Lake yesterday (across the street from the Publix). Didn't seem to be a limit...

Also had a can of it at the Whole Foods nearby.
