This beer is on what it's second year and has been selling strong all along. Just when you think it is failing it will be in 12oz bottles at lesser price. Looks like perfect timing to me.

MA is pretty good for distro, but what other local, fresh double IPAs are you finding in packies on a regular basis?

The only thing local I can think of would be Clown Shoes Space Cake...

Great beer they just make a ton of it, at smaller shops it sells out at Total Wine it goes past date usually. But they don't mark it down.

This beer is still tasty after the date.

I'm surprised with some places selling it for $10+. It typically goes for $6.99 at the nearest grocery store to me here in Charlotte.

Always great and I always get some but I have noticed that the last few releases have been on the shelf longer for sure.

How many different six packs would be on the shelf if they cost $26+ each? My guess is not many. I think a lot of people are willing to pay the $9 for a bomber when it is something special. When it's no longer "special" the perceived value goes away and it just becomes a $26 sixer. Thus, no one wants to fork over the cash.

I rarely buy bombers because there are just too many quality beers out there for $9-$12 a sixer. I just got a case of Jai Alai for $36. Why pay $9 for a bomber that's always available.

The thrill is totally gone for me...lost all interest about 10 months ago when my local began selling bottles of outrageous IPAs/DIPAs on the same day as bottling. I loved the Enjoy by concept and thought the beer was ok. IMO Stone needs to start thinking about how they can create a few east coast IPAs -- I think that would be real interesting.

The hype of it died down over here and I know that I've moved on despite the fact that it's still one of my favorite IPA's. There's just so much out there right now, I'm not going to continue to purchase the next batch as they don't taste different enough to justify another purchase.

It comes down to the fact that's is only available in bombers. I buy it occasionally but I would rather pickup a 4 or 6 pack of something else for only another $1- 2 or so. I rarely repeat buy on bombers.

San Diego style IPA might just not be for everyone, especially in regions where there are other styles that are more in favor. Living in Northern CA, these things go like hotcakes, as Nor Cal IPA preferences are just about the same as So Cal. I'd think in my other back yard, Colorado, it would be quite different.

The 3/14 is good. I would recommend it. As far as failing on the concept, I really don't know. It's a good beer as far as I'm concerned. I read in another thread on here that announced some people were upset Stone Enjoy By wasn't distributing to their state. Maybe they need to distribute to more states, but with a more limited amount to each state? There is definitely demand for this. They just need to find the right balance.

This is hard to say, especially since my first EB was the beer that sent me forever and exclusively down the craft beer rabbit hole and single-handedly (bottledy?) turned me into a hop-head, but I only buy new batches for the tick these days (on Untappd...yeah, I said it). This beer has jumped the shark. The onion/garlic presence (which, admittedly, has been lessened recently) is only tolerable in short doses. Once it moves to 4pks or 6pks, I'm done with it completely (but FWIW, I rarely buy 4-6pks of anything anymore).

This really comes down to the same old "shelf turd" dilemma. Good shop owners will pay close attention to how much they order and adjust accordingly over time. Poor shop owners will let distributors dump on them and order inappropriate amounts to make quotas. Good shop owners will take the hit and discount bottles past the enjoy by date. Poor shop owners will let the product sit and waste space indefinitely. Hopefully in moving to 12oz packs the problem of over-ordering will be somewhat alleviated for Enjoy By.

I'd pick it up every release if it was in sixers or 4 packs.

Its a special release beer that they are releasing too often. I always remember this being a beer that was released every few month. Now it seems like there is one right after the other. I just stopped putting it on draft at my place after I finished the 2/14/15. I probably wont get this back in to the rotation for a while.

Normally I don't associate East and West Coast to IPA's, but being technical here most of the top rated IPA's made on the East Coast are West Coast style IPA's. So everyone on the East Coast took a few lessons from Stone
