What I'm saying is that crowds and lines don't seem to be as large or long as in previous years.

For anyone interested in the wait at Russian River, I was there earlier today and got there an hour earlier than I did last year (8:45am) and ended up in the same starting spot as last year (the glassblowing shop). Luckily, we were the next to last of the first group in at 11:30am and the line didn't move for another 1hr 40min.

As others have said in this thread, 3 Younger limit strictly enforced with the wristband stubs and they wrote the time we needed to leave on the wristband.

If anyone needs some additional data points for the wait... I arrived yesterday (2/16) at 3:45pm. At that point, the folks in the front of the line said they arrived just before opening at 11am and had been in line for 5 hours. My wait was 3.5 hours, getting in just after 7. I didn't think it would be that long, but the line seemed to stall entirely from 5:30-6:30 for some reason. The 3 pour limit was strictly enforced with wristband stubs, but a couple people around me at the bar didn't get all their pours and were offering extra stubs to anyone that wanted them. I left voluntarily around 10pm (just before the 3 hour mark), so I'm not sure how strictly they enforced the 3-hour stay. Younger was still pouring at 10pm and I was told they have continued pouring until last call every day of the release this year.

I doubt I would do it again, but I'm glad I tried it once!

I was lucky enough to be at Stone Escondido again tonight for the second time this month (two consecutive Tuesdays) for Pliny the Younger. The crowd was smaller than last week. I know it's difficult to compare tastings a week apart, but last week's Younger tasted better to me and my drinking friends. Maybe a week really makes a noticeable difference with the freshness factor. It was also interesting to do a vertical Pliny the Elder v Pliny the Younger tasting. Not surprisingly, they had the same flavor profile, with the Younger just being bigger in every way. Anyway, if you can keep your ear to the ground and pay attention to the twitter posts, Stone is a great place to come for your annual Pliny the Younger fix. Both nights you could pretty much drink all you wanted with little to no wait.

I got to Russian River around 6:30am on 2/16. Got in as soon as they opened at 11am. Got a table with my friends. First beer I ordered was a younger. Then went for the Flight and left with a bang (had last two youngers) before I left around 2:30.

Brought back 12 Elders, 6 pigs and 3 sours and a growler of Salvation.

Went yesterday just for the experience as it was my first time doing Younger at RR (already had about 6 pours this year at other events). Got in line at 4pm, in at 5:45. People were offering up unused pours but they weren't allowing anyone to use them.

If it were Pappy barrel aged PtY with peaches, the lines would be like never seen before...

I am also trying to find a list of places in the Los Angeles area.

I know Surly Goat and the release, anyone know how they are going to do it yet. Otherwise work this time of year makes it so I really can't research. Really want to get just one glass.

If Daily Pint doesn't sell out tonight, you can get leftovers tomorrow. I happened upon Younger there last year that way.

Props to RR - wait was much better with new rules. In line just before 10 am and was last of first wave! Had two and got out of the way for others. Cheers!

New system is great. Went tuesday night at about 9pm. Waited 40 minutes. Grabbed an open bar stool and had a meatball sandwich plus 3 youngers. Whole thing less than 2 hours.

Younger flowing today, about 20 minute wait to get in. Guess they found an extra keg.

You mentioned so-cal, but that is a huge area. Specific location would be helpful

Where are you going to be at? The two areas you are talking about is like saying "I am going to the middle of the country, is this anywhere in Chicago or New Orleans" That is about how far the Bay area is from LA. If you are mores specific someone can help you.

3/5 It is at the Surly Goat in West Hollywood. Tapping the keg at 6PM.
