Any other flavor descriptors other than "amazing"?

Picking up more pecan than I remember, which is a good thing, still plenty of maple flavor too, I would compare the mouthfeel to aphasia. You can definitely tell its 10.5% this year, good buzz from 1 beer on an empty stomach.lol

the alcohol is there for sure when it warms up, at colder temp i got more maple then pecans but as it warmed up i got more pecans than maple. It is a very good beer but it would be someing crazy if it sat in a rye barrel for a while.

    Price and location?

My guy said not til tomorrow so surprised that some others got it distributed today. Seems like they would all use the same regional distributor.

Shorts uses one distributor. They deliver to areas within a 24hr period typically. Some stores might get some the afternoon before and some may get the next morning. Put on your patient pants, you won't miss this beer based on the legwork you are already doing.

This beer is tasting fantastic btw. Lots of maple and pecans, kinda hot but perfect for this time of year.

I went to big10 once and haven't felt the need to go back. The one near campus felt like a dimly lit alleyway and the prices were horrible. My intern got a call that they had dogfish 120 either late last week or early this week, he went to get it and they told him was 14.99 for the 12oz, he passed.

Bought mine in Hillsdale. It is drinking amazing as always. A ton of maple syrup flavor when it is cold with the pecans coming forward as it warms up. The malts are honestly perfectly balance with this beer. It is definitely on the sweet end but still ranks as one of my favorite offerings from Short's!

Conversely, I got more alcohol at a cold temp, and the flavors came out nicely as it warmed. Less alcohol also as it warmed.

I also had a bottle from 2013 for comparison. The 2013 came off exactly as described above, which probably says the beer does not improve with age. However, if this year's ABV is as stated above in comparison to the 2013, maybe the 2105 will improve with age.

Thanks all for the more descriptive reviews. Definitely going to seek this out tomorrow now.

Snagged some in Ferndale earlier today. Instead of picking up a single or two, I gambled and decided to get a sixer...really happy I did, this stuff is solid. Probably going to let one or two age out a year or so and see how it develops.

Picked up 3 sixers (Short's fanboy) and I'm glad I did. Wow, what a great beer. I'm tasting more pecans than maple syrup, but it wasn't in the refrigerator beforehand. I'm going to chill a couple tonight and see how they taste in comparison to the one I had yesterday.

My bottles are dated 2/23 so they are only 4 days old in the bottle. (Fast trucks from up north?) I'm going to sit on these are another week to let them condition a bit. The one that I had yesterday was pretty good, but I think these are going to get even better. Just my 2ยข.

I have to say, Shorts can do no wrong in my book...and this one knocks it out of the park. Glad I got 2-6'ers.

I figure there better be some bonuses to living in this arctic weather for what seems like 9 months of the year. Shorts is one of them!
