Got mine after work. They hadn't even made the price tag yet. Got one in the fridge and just waiting til the little guy goes to bed so I can open it up.

I picked up two sixers tonight and I'm glad I got them when I did. They were going fast! I can't see Woodmaster staying on the shelf any longer than a day or two, if that.

I'm a Vine and Brew man myself but usually will stop at Oades on Jolly just to satisfy my curiousity. They wanted like $20 a bottle for Black Butte XXVI while it was $15 and change right down the road. I wish everyone would quit buying their overpriced stuff so maybe, just maybe they'd sell things at a fairer price. Also their "help" isn't very helpful.

Anyway, back on point. Had a Woodmaster last night, so good! Very interesting beer, couldn't help but think of breakfast while I drank it for some reason.

Very impressed with this one! Some Shorts beers are more appealing to different people and usually brown ales aren't my favorite but this beer was great. To me, this beer screamed MICHIGAN. Once again this was amazing and I really thought it was Michigan in a glass.

Wow! Woodmaster is a home run. The more it warms, the more it becomes an old ale. I was a little pissed when I didn't see publican porter on the 2015 schedule, not anymore. Well done Short's!

Vine and brew is where I always go. Wish it was a little closer to work or home, but it's worth the drive. I was there right around 5 on Friday to pickup woodmaster, passed on the black butte. Gotta settle down the beer spending a bit.

I drive right past two different big10s to go to vine and brew...

Just hit Ottawa county, so I picked up a sixer based on this thread. Short's is sooooo hit or miss for me, though. Seems like every time I try to write them off, they release something really good and I get sucked back in. Hopefully, Woodmaster is that beer, because I've been on a streak of meh or worse with Short's.

Anyone find this in the Troy/Sterling Heights area at all? I tried Champanes on Friday, along with Manny's and B and B. I feel like I'm missing out!

I picked up mine in Royal Oak last Wednesday. There was still some in the Clawson area on Friday, albeit at ~$14/six pack.

Tell us tomorrow how happy you are with this beer. I think it's a proven winner, and I'm confident that you'll agree. Especially pay close attention to the flavors as the beer warms up.

I don't normally drink during the week, but I finished a couple of big projects at work today and decided to relax with one of these. It's seriously good and I'm glad I got a full 6er instead of just a single. There's a significant amount of alcohol heat/burn at first, but it really changes as it warms. Maple aromas are prominent at first, but the nutty/pecan notes gradually emerge over time. Taste definitely gets more complex with time in the glass and it has a really looooooong sweet finish. Honestly, I would have loved to follow this over a few hours, but I had a hard time stepping away from the glass. I'll probably store the rest of my bottle in my basement instead of the fridge and will definitely get another six if I see 'em at the grocery store tomorrow. And I guess my love/hate relationship with Short's will continue ad infinitum...

Finally picked a six pack up today and this one is so good. I was surprised to see it, but it was meant to be because we just got back from a sugar bush field trip.

I was totally shocked to find a sixer of this today 7/3/15! Any predictions on how it's going to taste compared to fresh woodmaster?

This is tasting sooo much better than it even was fresh IMO. Flavors have melded together nicely and booziness has subsided. Getting more maple then I was when it was fresh.

Good to know. I tried holding back a few bottles from February but I just don't have that level of self control. Definitely one of my favorite Short's beers

I bought one about a month ago. Either it was infected or I hated it. I had to DP that beer. Best of luck...and get your mind out of the gutter
