for me, it means a skin-crawlingly uncomfy effect if I have more than 12 ounces of regular coffee. Such a sad lightweight. On a positive note, I can really hold my liquor for a girl, and honestly, I prefer that :grinning:

I drink quite a bit of coffee each day (one large in morning and sometimes another cup or so later in the afternoon) so the quantity isn't the issue..just trying to sleep if I drink it too late. I have gotten a little bit jittery before, but doesn't happen too often. I would holding your liquor over holding your coffee if give then choice as well

I started this same thread a couple months ago and it was mod'd. Apparently it's a forbidden topic for some reason.

    To answer your question...yes

Nope... but I could also drink a 48oz batch of french press and pass out for 8 hours.

I never really feel this. Typically I sleep better after any beers and I've not seen a different with coffee stouts. I have heard others mention that it effects them though.

For me, it can be pretty deadly. I drink several cups of coffee throughout the day to keep myself going/alert (because I drink beer just about every night, see the vicious cycle here?), so I have a pretty high tolerance for caffeine. But I also probably build up some residual caffeine in my system throughout the day, so anything after about 5:00 can mess me up. Combining coffee in beer with alcohol (which also has a negative impact on truly sound sleep) wreaks havoc with my system.

All of that said, it also seems to depend on the beer and a bunch of other variables. I try to avoid coffee beers on weeknights just to be safe.

I was addicted to caffeine long before I started drinking beer. Home filter coffee doesn't keep me up at all, only drip coffee. I often reach for coffee when I don't want to drink beer that night.

Didn't they brew some coffee beer on the Drew Carey show?

Based on the sheer volume of coffee i drink s day, no. Anywhere from 2 (slow day) to 6+ 12-16 Oz coffees a day.

Around 4:30 is the cut-off for my coffee. If I drink during the week (not including happy hours, but home drinks) I prefer to save that beer for a post-dinner treat. Hence, the time is usually past 4:30. I guess I could just drink about 4-5 of these coffee beers and pass out just fine. At that point I'm sure the alcohol would win.

I remember hearing a few months back that Starbucks was going to release a stout-inspired coffee. Anyone hear about/try this? What happened to it?
