It's the fastest seller definitely. The way I look at the more sought after eclipse is the same way I look at Bourbon County and even to a lesser degree KBS. They fly off the shelves in most places (again especially the good variants) so I would say they are acceptable. If you have a 13 I would definitely say go for it.

EDIT: This would NOT be a good idea as a centerpiece bottle. Nothing in distro with the exception of 2012 or older Bourbon County Variants would I want to be the centerpiece.

Exceptions for Eclipse would be release party only/3L bottles

I gave away a 2011 20 yr Elijah Craig as a challenge bottle in a separate BIF. I was real curios how that one would taste. Has anyone had it?

Now the idea of challenge bottles could be fun here. Hrmnnnn. What do you say @Dicers. Want some cinnamon? :grinning::grinning:

Lol I've had 20 year and it was really good. Not that much better than 12 year, but one of the better bottles.

No but if you included any non-shelf loon I doubt anyone would complain....

Before anyone says anything shelf loon = Gueuze, Rose De Gambrius, Kriek. They are Cantillon bottles designed to sit on a shelf whether or not here in the states.

@Dicers already has a challenge in front of him at the moment, and it's not exactly a walk in the park.

I'm pretty sure no one would complain about shelf loons either (I know I wouldn't) but my point was that I'm building an all-stouts box, and don't want to break that even for a loon.

That's a good way to look at it. Definitely not planning it as my centerpiece...and you've already gotten your subtle hint as to what *that* bottle will be. On the off chance my target reads this, like if you'd be happy receiving a 2013 Java Coffee Eclipse amongst your porch implosion.

On the off chance my sender reads this, I'm certainly not opposed to the "Surprise Loon"! :stuck_out_tongue:

For me.......a Loon is a Loon. I don't care if it sits on a shelf, a floor, under a rock......

@ Eclipse talk, I have never purchased one based on the price and the fact that there are simply too many variants. I did try a Maker's bottle (I think) a month or two ago and really wasn't impressed, overly roasty and one dimensional to me.

It landed yesterday! I work freaking late most weeknights though, so I probably won't get to pick it up from my apartment office until Thursday :slight_frown:

I want to send someone a ninja box but I cannot. Because I'm still not on whatever spreadsheet. How can we fix this?

And another hint to my target: while I wait for a trade to complete to gather a few more of your wants, I intend to send a warning shot very soon with at least a tasty Texas IPA in it that I think you'll like.

I would agree that the 2012 Old Fitz was the best or in the top 3 BA stouts I have tried. 2 years does some amazing things to these beers.

I'd take a shelf Loon, never see bottles of Cantillon in IL. Or, I'm just not shopping in the right places.

Excuse my arrogance y'all are right loons rock regardless

I've been left off, or not given access, to this alleged spreadsheet of addresses as well. I guess I won't be doing any ninja boxing either.
