    Thanks to a technical glitch with my phone, let me rephrase:

    . . . They should put a batch of this stuff in some wine barrels and let it funk up a bit, see what happens. (It really is a solid, but very approachable gruit.)

    Also, I had a snifter of Swamp Head's truly excellent DIPA, Tropical Disturbance, following Devil's Nettle. I wish they would dial in on a recipe for that (this batch had the same aroma but a different hop flavor from what I remember) and throw it in some cans. Just one batch, you guys—I would buy the ever-loving shit out of it.

    Moved on to this. $8 and change for a BA stout bomber. I'm not getting much from the coffee (more dark fruits) but it's still a solid BA stout. Wasn't a big fan with Tony Magee re: Hop Hunter but my goodness...a sub $10 BA stout bomber which can stand toe to toe with many $15+ BA bombers. The consumer wins here. Thank you Lagunitas!     BA Brimstone Bomb! while having a Play-doh party, ya'll! Good beer. The barrel adds a lot of subtle character...which some people don't seem to pick up on. It's a lot of char and alcohol. Not a ton of vanilla and oak that a lot of bourbon barrel aged beers seem to add to the base beer.
