I'm putting the final touches on a box heading east from me. I Hope he likes what I'm filling it out with, I had a bunch of wants put together before the BA blackout but was a few ounces short of what I wanted. I'm going to do my best without the trading forums being up.

    Cheers!

Okay time for posting that awesome haul I alluded to last night...received from NJBeerNerd (Mike):

Armand'4 Oude Geuze Zomer (long time want and an amazing surprise...)
Cantillon St Lamvinus (holy 'loons...these used to sit on the shelf around here, but not for YEARS...super stoked to see one again, and one I can DRINK)
The Bruery Sour in the Rye (another want and one I can't wait to drink)
The Bruery Tart of Darkness (another want and has SKYROCKETED up my priority list since drinking a TINY TINY taste a couple of months ago...this one has developed amazingly for me...can't wait to share with friends)
Russian River Consecration (an always want and possibly my new favorite 'don't have to give up a kidney' sour...but I would ...); please note in the picture the Giants cozy
Allagash Interlude (another want and a 'treatment' combination I can't wait to try)
Weyerbacher Rapture (want + wild + winecask = win)
Weyerbacher Riserva (I can't find this on my wants list, but if it wasn't there it SHOULD have been...let the enamel removal begin)
Anchorage Bitter Monk (description on the beer page sounds amazing - Citra DIPA + brett + Chardonnay? WOW)
Anchorage Love Buzz (again, who are these guys and why don't I have more of their beers? rosehips pepeppercorns pinot and citra...yowza)

And then there's a couple of very cool chalices from Allagash and Ommegang...a FANTASTIC haul that's going to bring a lot of fun and tastiness to me and my friends here in Chicago...can't wait to get started. And it shamed me into getting my own box on the road...more on that below...mediocre cell phone pics linked that don't at all do it justice, but we can't go without the pr0n...

Cheers Mike...you killed it on this one.

And now for a hint on the box I sent out...

35 lbs (don't get too excited, part of it is 'creative' beer-safing techniques...did you know that if you take an unread NYTimes (don't judge...we get the Sunday paper so that our 'digital' subscription is still 'free'...) and poke a small hole in the plastic wrap it makes an amazing beer cushion, if a heavy one? Reuse baby .) and 12 bottles of tasty funkalicious goodness are wending their way EXACTLY 800 miles door to door. Pretty cool...should arrive next Tuesday I think with the FedEx Home Delivery not happening on Mondays...

I hope you enjoy them! I tried to put together a decent box. Hopefully they do not disappoint.

I'll be dropping my box off today. My target already knows who he is, but here's a clue anyway: my target and my wife work for the same law firm, albeit in different cities/offices.

It's so nice to see people sending out more than the minimum. Love seeing this 12 bottle shippers flying around! It's also too bad since my target probably lives the furthest from me of anyone in this BIF

My box is all set to go. Only two or three wants but tons of sour and funk. Also a few brewery release onlys.
    Should be out tomorrow.
Hint: It would take me about 28 hours to drive to my targets house.

Great hauls so far! Sorry I've been away for a bit; I spent the majority of Thursday through yesterday moving and only had access on my phone.

My box will be headed out tomorrow. It will land Wednesday or sooner.

Dropped off box 35lb box of goodness tonight at the FedEx, it's headed due east to the other coast. I managed to hit a few wants, a few local gems, and a few other good funky beers that fit right in to this BIF's parameters. Also had to drop in an extra want (IPA) that I happened to have as an extra.

Got it out just under the deadline.

    Cheers!
    Jeff

Dropping off my box tonight, it's heading just over 1500 miles northeast and contains a want or two, some new kids on the sour/saison/funk block, some BA goodness, a[n intentionally] funky homebrew, and some local hotness of what I believe is my target's old listed favorite style.

After all this talk of the deadline, I didn't have my box ready yet, but it will be going out tomorrow. I'm very happy that services like FedEx exist, because it would have taken me about 45 hours to drive there and drop the box off myself . I was able to hit a few wants, a few brewery releases, and just an overall sour and funky box I hope my target will enjoy.

My box leaves today with 9 qualifying beers (~175 ounces) plus another 3 beers (~60 ounces) within the styles. Of those three, I have had two. One I gave above a 4.15, and the other above a 4.5. Both of those are Belgian beers from the same brewery. I had not heard of this brewery long before I went over there last fall. The final beer is part of a "set" with a qualifying beer.

All 9 of the qualifying beers are wants. I hope my target enjoys!

Sorry I haven't been on the site and checking the forum........work has had me pinned down. My box will be heading out tomorrow......a day late, but I was waiting on a brew to come in, got word it is waiting on my doorstep. My box will be headingt to a city who's baseball team hasn't had a winning season in 8 years.........think this year will make it 9 :slight_frown:
