I'll have to mark my calendar for this one.

    Here's their post from facebook:

    Saturday, April 4 at 12:00pm - 8:00pm

Ready for some bourbon barrel-aged beer from Smog City? We're rocking bottles this time and it's going to be HUGE!

Smog City is bringing back two of Porter's most sought after beers, Bourbon O.E. and Goldie. Both will be limited bottle runs with hand-written labels and bottle numbers. See beer descriptions at the bottom of this event.

    Here's what to expect:

    Bottle Table
As we did with Infinite Wishes release, we will set up a BOTTLE SALES ONLY table at the back of the taproom. If you want to pick up your bottles and skirt the line for pours, this is the place to be!

    Front Bar
You will also be able to pick up bottles and buy full pours, tasters and fill your growlers(no growler fills of the bourbon barrel-aged beers avail) at the front bar. We'll have a single line starting at the stainless steel bar and as many of our staff behind the bar to help as we can manage.

    Serendoggity Hot Dogs
Come hungry, our favorite food cart will be here slinging delicious hot dogs starting at noon.

    Bourbon O.E. I 13.5% ABV
    Description to come!

    Goldie | 10.5% ABV
A Belgian Golden Strong Ale aged in bourbon barrels for 5 months. Flavors of subtle coconut, vanilla, and bourbon combine with ripe tropical fruit esters to make an amazingly well balanced beer.

Nope. Nope. Nocando. This craft beer bubble and it's resultant special releases got me Ronda Rousey'd.

    I'm tapping out.

Can't imagine this release being like Infinite Wishes. BA Stouts bring the crowds... a BA Belgian golden? Probably not

A shorter line works well for me.

Had Goldie last year, thought it was excellent. And Bourbon O.E. two years ago, also very good.

Looking forward to getting both in bottles.

Bourbon Goldie was quite good. Not worth e going out of my way for. I would go if I had a reason to be in Torrance.

Any idea if these are going to be distributed around So.Cal, or if it's a brewery only thing like Infinite Wishes?

No idea, but Goldie did see some local distribution last time it was bottled.

Both will be limited bottle runs with hand-written labels and bottle numbers.

That sounds like no distribution other than the brewery to me, much like Infinite Wishes. But that's just a guess

We will probably see kegs pop up at various events and maybe some bars around town.

I tried BA Goldie at the Santa Monica BAM festival last year.

    Here's more information:
    https://smogcitybeer.wordpress.com/2015/03/25/bourbon-o-e-and-goldie-bottle-release-april-4th/

    The important bits are:
Bourbon O.E. or B.O.E. as we call it in the taproom has garnered a strong following since 2013 when it was first released. This beer boasts balance above all with beautiful vanilla, oak, and char characteristics balanced out with the malty complexity of a true English Barleywine. Each bottle is hand-labeled, numbered and waxed. $14/bottle – 6 bottle limit

Goldie, first released in 2014, a Belgian Golden Strong Ale aged in bourbon barrels for over 6 months. Flavors of subtle coconut, vanilla, and bourbon combine with ripe tropical fruit esters to make an amazingly well-balanced beer. Each bottle is hand-labeled and numbered. $12/bottle – 6 bottle limit

500ml? Price went up a fair amount for the same size from Infinite Wishes, for O.E.

They finally learned. Besides, Infinite Wishes was stupidily dirt cheap. I don't blame them for getting with the program, IW could have easily sold for $5 more and still sold out and I would have happily paid more.

    loss leader?

    brand development?

probably not necessary in the craft market.. just make dank shit and learn how to reach that bearded target demo with lofty descriptions

Well, they must have seen the line out the door and realized "shit, if we marked it up just $2 more per bottle, we could have made another 2-3k on the release. Which isn't asking much since the base, The Nothing, was only like 2 bucks cheaper.
