I'm getting to be the same way. I'm still coming out for Darkness Day / Eve mostly because I get to hang out with my good friend that lives in Minneapolis and we do dumb guy stuff while I'm out. If D Day was canceled, I'd still come up and we'd still do dumb guy stuff.

As for the cellar, I've been in a slow process to downsize and drink. The only exception is lambic - I be cellaring that yo.

Yeah but if I sell one set for $700, that'll cover the cost of the other Seriously though you do have a point, I won't completely stop buying beer I'm sure, but big ticket items like that will likely be put on hold.

Do a quick search of what the last set is going for and what it traded for even when it was first released. I don't think the last one was a shit show but with it being an announced release, I think it will bring out folks from all over. I know people from Chicago and St Louis talking about making the trip. Also speaking of announcing releases, there is another easy way to help combat the large muling groups. Don't tell them it's coming and let the locals find out and spread the word first (toppling Goliath for example) or even announce it via twitter a couple hours before like side project usually does. Watch how hard la fosse is to get tomorrow having given people a week heads up notice. Not only does it give the locals and true supporters a better chance to get the rare bottles they deserve for being regular patrons but it makes it really hard for the out of state large groups to monopolize a rare release. Just look what happened at degarde last weekend, one guy bought every no limit bottle that was available and spent $8000...

 

When is this release we speak of?
3 hours each way, I've gone further for less.

 

I just looked and they have not announced a release date but I did just realize that it's worse than I thought... There is not four new bottles, there is actually six!?!

 

If enough notice is given I'm making the trip from alabama. I've got family in lewistown I am over due on visiting and I wouldn't mind getting some tasty beer in the process. Also hoping to finally meet some of you knuckleheads. just need more info on the release so if any of you PA folks could keep me posted I'd appreciate it. I'll be checking the regional threads religiously as well.

I can get to Williamsport in under 2 hours usually so it's a manageable drive for me, i'd like to go to the release but I guess it depends on the details. I'll keep you guys in mind of course if I end up going and scoring any bottles.

 

And just realized that the pron I promised won't be posted now until Thursday... I misread the tracking and it's actually arriving Thursday... This one is from outside the thread from Sly, some of you already know how this guy likes to destroy a porch so this is gonna be good is all I'll say. I am currently reinforcing the porch with additional 2x4's on my day off today. I really need to make sure things are bomb proof Even more so for the atomic bomb of impending destruction that is coming from @Mipper ... He better hope he is doing the same as well haha

 

Pretty much. Will depend on if I can get out of the house to do it, and if my friend wants to visit her folks that weekend, if I could get 4 sets instead of 2 and hook you guys up, it would make it much more worth doing.

Boxes from Sly and @Mipper the same week? No porch can withstand that. Just be out of town and save yourself from the blast. Come home to survey the damage and be glad you're alive to do it.
