Yeah, their business is obviously flawed.

Don't forget that everybody here is entitled to any beer they want at whatever price they want to buy it at and should not have to suffer the indignity of not having the most recent rare release. Do you people go to Lamborghini dealerships and start moaning about the price of the latest Murcielago?

Man, nothing gets me more riled up than an overpriced nonessential item!

This thread got me so excited, then as I kept reading my heart sank when I got to the part of only 90 released today and they we already sold out in a matter of a few hours. I can't believe 90 people that don't have jobs were able to make it to FFF and buy them all within a matter of hours. Screw these presidential candidates, no one can mobilize people like Three Floyds.

Since word travels so fast, any news on when the other 390 bottles will be released?

So, they sold over $3,000 worth of merchandise straight out of their brewpub in roughly three hours. And will do that plus more again the next time they sell a few of these. Yeah, I don't even know how these guys stay open.

Mikkel was drinking a bottle when he was in town brewing about three weeks ago, so I am sure FFF employees could have smuggled a few out of the brewery.

Who heard about the 90 per day and from whom? Any guarantee it will be tomorrow too? I just called and go a bunch of nothing about it being sold out and they have no idea if it will be released again. Need to know if I should plan on tomorrow or not....

So this was $35 per bottle when their past special releases except BA DL were $25. Did they just figure out they can make an extra $10 a bottle and sell out just as fast so are all special bottles going forward going to be $35?

    Discuss.

Or maybe this may have cost more to make? I don't know if they needed wine barrels for anything else they ever made.

Nobody gives less of a fuck than Three Floyds. You think you don't give a fuck? Three Floyds don't give a fuck. Nobody gives less of a fuck than Three Floyds. If you was hangin' from a cliff, gettin' ready to fall to your death, that's right, and Three Floyds was at the top of the cliff, and all you needed was a fuck to save your life, and Three Floyds had a pocket full of fucks... they wouldn't give you one. "Hey, Three Floyds, I need a fuck!" "Ohh, you know we don't give a fuck. Here's a fuck... psych!"

I have no problem with the price.
Supplication sells off bottle shop shelves for $20.
This beer will never be at a bottle shop.
This is twice the volume, it's the first all Brett beer they've done, and it's going to be "collectible" for people who are into that.

They're doing the capitalist thing, and selling beer for as much as they can.
There's a principle in setting your prices that suggests you raise your prices until some people start saying "it's too much."
That's one legitimate and common way of maxing your profits.

I am betting I'd like this beer more than the Saison Brett I'm going to open tonight out of sadness for being unable to make it to the brewery.

I'm not batting an eye at $35 for a beer that I really want.
You don't want it as much.
    I find that entirely reasonable.
Whining about it, I find entirely pedantic.
