I thought I tasted something odd about this beer, Curtis (Council) asked me how was the beer, but I didnt reply thinking it was just me.

Sometimes other beers play with the palate so chalked it up to that and didn't feel like giving my 2 cents.

    Some examples:
Pliny on tap tasted muddy after Younger.
Velvet Merkin '14 tasted watery after having BAVSS and Infinite Wishes.
V014 tasted rough and acidic after having Rare Barrel Wise Guise.

Pliny is one of my favorites, was surprised on the flavor right having it side by side with Younger.

Yeah I haven't even had one yet, mostly I was bummed cause I sent one to Drew. I can deal with the four I have left, if they're bad oh well. Living in AZ I have to take my chances to get anything rare I can and Socal is one of my few connections that I can occasionally go out for or have someone pick up for me. Council won't do proxies so my friend got me these through some of his friends so no need to complain. Not as mad as when I had a bad Hommage recently haha which was like drinking the strongest vinegar known to man lol. At least with this I'm only out $100 total, who knows the beers might not even be bad.

I would pay good money to see 2 Minions going at it in MMA. Imagine the fun in re-enacting the Kimbo Slice Ear explosion match with Minions!

    Lurks back out.........

I actually used to do MMA as well but it is just to much for my body to handle anymore.
That was nasty and cool in slo-mo at the same time.

Yes, tried them both. The Western Sunrise was made with Brett and it was really tasty. I enjoyed that one a lot because it gave what would be an ordinary IPA a nice little funk. Not over the top but liked it. The Imperial Abolition was also pretty good. The cherry flavors were nice, but almost a little syrupy. Still enjoyed it though.

Perfect. Like I said I have yet to try them so I want to make sure to get those at least. When that was listed as an upcoming beer I was excited because of the Brett and I am a big cherry fan so these two should be interesting

Unfortunately, same as @EA728 , I don't have any great suggestions in the NW part of town. The first thing that came to mind was Hop Scholar, but after looking at a map it's not very close to you.

Sorry, but I know next to nothing about that part of town. If you will have a car and want to venture a little closer to town then Petrol Station is a great little craft beer bar.
