Lyft has a promotion where you can get credit for a signup. I did so and got $200 credit, which is broken down by 10 rides @ $20 each. The credit only sticks for ~2 weeks but it's more than enough to get you around town for a few days, if not a week.

I think the amount of credit you get is dependent upon your location when you signup (in my case I was OTP)

OP has a car, though that does limit the drinking. FWIW, mass transit is actually really easy between downtown and Decatur or Little Five Points.

    Srsly,

If you are a foodie like me, you must go to The Optimist and get the shrimps a la plancha. Honestly, a must if you are visiting here! It is my favorite app/small plate in the city by far. Go for lunch as it is chill, it's closer to fine dining for dinner. They also have a put-put hole outside while you are drinking a craft beer(they have a good selection of bottles).

Also, right behind there is a brewpub that I'm an assistant brewer at called 5 Seasons. If I'm working when you stop by, I'll grab you a beer. We also have a lot of barrel aged bottles for consumption at brewpub only(terrible GA beer laws)!

Went over to krog street market yesterday, and I'll second that recommendation. My friend raves about the burgers at Fred's, but they were closed when I was there. The hop city bar has a great taplist. Jeni's ice cream for desert.

Just got back from the trip, thought I should say thanks again for the recs! I made it to Porter and Wrecking Bar, Krog St Market, Sweetwater, 5 Seasons, Hop City, Octane, Vortex (at friends' insistence - it was fun, but I don't think I'd need to go back), Brick Store, Victory, Paper Plane, Fat Matt's…. and plenty of other places to boot.

I loved the city and really enjoyed the beers I had, especially a couple from Orpheus (TMoS & Sykophantes) and Creature Comforts Tropicalia. I also enjoyed the Three Taverns and Wrecking Bar beers I had, but Orpheus and CC really stood out. I ate well, drank well, and had an awesome time, thanks in large part to all of your suggestions. Thanks!

Wow. Nice job making it around Atlanta. I'm on the tail end of a 3-day visit, and I've only scratched the surface (with family in tow). Krog Street Market was really great, and I've been digging all the Orpheus and Three Taverns I can find. Hoping CC fans will be on the shelves today... I heard that's happening.

The Quasimodo is the best US made quad I've ever had, hands down. There's plenty that are very close though and then a sea of very good ones, but I'll gladly drink this over most anything else, even some of the better Belgians. That said, Rochefort 10 will always be my number one quad.
