I was finally able to find Stone's 10th anniversary Ruination nearby. Well worth the wait.

Really liked it on tap back in NC. Olde Hickory seems to do well with their bottled itterations of their bigger beers IMHO

started with captain lawrence's captain's kolsch, which was awesome.

moved on to founders cerise, which sucks.

might have a deviant dale's later, which will be good.

Day two of my road trip. A boulder fell on the road so I was in standstill traffic for 2 hours. There was also a ton of storms on the drive. Total time on the road today was around 12 hours. Got into town around 6 pm so I had a kolsch, English ipa, and an Irish oatmeal stout with dinner at Aiken brewing company in Aiken, SC. Drinking a two month old two hearted right now in the hotel. Meh, still love this beer! Bells Java stout up next!

Sippin' a few Torpedoes, while I foster-parent my daughter's cat for a month or so. I'm used to having tuff as nails alley cats, but I've grown to love this fat, sweet, gentle pampered feline. (Miss Daisy). OT, but I liken Torpedo to be in the same world class as Pliny, Sculpin, Alesmith, DoubleWide, Big Daddy and White Knuckles. Superb ales.

Went with the Ruination 10 (yay crowd mentality!) and split it with a scraggly Argentinian I'm living with. It was really good, but it wasn't as explosively awesome as I'd anticipated or hoped. Great, yes. But I'll take Heady, Abner, Captain's Reserve, Double Jack, Palate Wrecker (esp. Palate Wrecker, actually), or Hoptimum most days over Ruination 10. My 2¢.

But what I'd really love to see is Sixpoint Gemini in cans. Goddamnit I'd suckle on that nectar, if I could.
