The only beer I'd buy again from them is Mo. I don't know why there is such a huge price jump in MA. Even low prices like $4.50 for Peeper in Maine seem overpriced. That equates to about a $19 six pack for a ~5% pale ale. People thinking they're getting a deal are fooled by the packaging.

What did they charge for it?

Hot tip: Lunch bottles available at Southie Liquors on West Broadway in South Boston, as of last night. Call first, though, there were only a few bottles left. They were kind enough to put a couple aside for me, so they'll probably do the same for you.

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. I don't buy a lot of their bottles because they can be pricey and I still have lots of others out there to try, but I live close to the ME border and know a couple of places I can get their beer on tap. Love me some Peeper with good seafood. Zoe was good, but it's been a while since I've had it. Sitting on a bottle of MOT and need to find Lunch to at least try it. Going to have to check When Pigs Fly and see if they still have it on draft.

Picked up some Mo and Mean Old Tom in Central Maine for very reasonable prices last week. I very much enjoy MBC and agree it's overpriced here in Philly which is why I stock up somewhere north of Augusta every time I'm there.

I love MBC beers. Zoey esp, Lunch wasn't really my taste. I will agree that the bottles are quite $$ and not a normal buy for me. However, it seems every time I see MBC on tap it is usually on the cheaper side. Maybe it is just the bars that I go to, and MBC isn't a common thing here in Vermont, but even on my yearly trip to Portland, it seems to be fairly cheap.

Spent a week in Sebago for the 4th. MBC Zoe and Lunch were in heavy rotation in our cabin both were super fresh (6-26-12!). Bought a 1/6th of Peeper for our 4th pig roast which was drained before the fireworks. The beer is a bit pricey but if you took a tour of the "brewery" you would know why. This is a labor of love, I cant imagine these guys are making a fortune. I would rather pay a premium for their quality and care any day. Hell, you can pay $7 for a bottle of Heineken at many city bars.

Yes, you can pay that for Heineken, but nobody here is making that comparison. Just comparing MBC to other much more competitively priced craft beers.

Sorry I must have missed the list of "much more competitively priced craft beers" that people find as good as Lunch (sans Flower Power a nice beer which is about .25 per oz v. Lunch @.35). Would be happy if someone would suggest something as enjoyable for me as Zoe (IMO exceptional) at a lower price point.

To get Lunch where I am its more like .40-.50 per oz. Flower Power is definitely much cheaper, Union Jack is much cheaper, SmuttyNose is much , much , much cheaper. Torpedo is much, much, much, much cheaper. I could go on but I think you get my point.

I do love Lunch and I thought Zoe was exceptional but they just aren't cost effective. For Zoe comparisons obviously Nugget Nectar is the beer that comes to mind (although I do like Zoe better).

Don't go on too far or you will be back where we started at Heineken.
