Between 120 to 175 is an easy-to-remember operative range as far as combined plans, breweries, and beer companies goes. If meaderies, cideries, "POP" companies, and Kombucha brewers were added it would bring the total closer to 250, but that's a thought for another page.

No longer headquartered here are Big Hurt and Pig's Eye, and I've been wondering if Blue Diamond is still active.

Bub's Brewery: As far as I know theirs are re-badged brands brewed by other brewers (including August Schell.)

Another that is often listed as a brewery is Clyde Ironworks. Their original plan had included a brewery as a part of the complex, but that never panned-out. Lake Superior had been brewing a couple (maybe three) brands for them which I'd have to assume were re-badged L.S. brands, but I find no mention of those now.

    Don't forget sakeries. So it's more like 251 (moto-i).

Ratebeers list is a lot cleaner than the one listed here on BA. O'Gara's was delisted years ago and suddenly reappeared in the last few months and also people have added Lion's Tap and some other bar as brewpubs.

It's easier to navigate, that other list.

Yeah: Neither Jefferson Pub & Grill (Winona) and O'Gara's Bar & Grill would qualify as brewpubs or even client brewers. It looks like some folks are finding that old information (it's definitely out there) and trying to be helpful here at B.A.

In the April issue of The Growler they mentioned a new one in Biwabik. Anyone (Chaz) have any info on that?

Anyone got any updates on St. Paul Breweries -
    In particular -
Black Stack Brewing who are moving into the Silgan Building in Hamline/Midway along with the new recently announced mini-golf organization Can Can Wonderland . Anyone got any news on a build-out date ?
Lake Monster...I continue to find their beer on draft all over the place but no word yet on a build-out date at their 94/Vandalia First/First Location ?
Bad Weather Brewing..Things are progressing very nicely for them and the place is looking good . They will have at least 8-10 beers on tap when they finally open so lots of new things happening...They are still targeting Summer 2015 on West 7th St so I am guessing July/August as the time-frame ..

I have heard of it -don't ask how- but don't have anything to share at the moment. If I didn't know better I'd say it's the long-awaited "St. Louis River" plan, but that Cloquet plan ain't it. There's also the plan for Hermantown. :grimacing:

At least I know that it isn't this plan for Minneapolis (or Edina?): http://www.ablebeer.com/

Here's more on the Meetinghouse plan in Dundas:

    - Black Stack Brewing
No news, and I check-up on all such BIP religiously. :sunglasses:

    - Lake Monster
They had a release party for their new beer a short while back, but I've seen nothing new vis-a-vis buildout.

Anyone have firm info on the South Fork opening? I heard second or third hand that there was some communication saying it would be mid-month, but neither their FB page nor web site seem to have been updated for a while.

    Indeed: August 4, 2013

January 2014 listings at Brewers Association indicated several plans for Shakopee, none of the names were then known.
(By the way, I checked the links on the locked 2013/2014 thread last week, and they still work.)

    1. Badger Hill Brewing has since established a taproom and brewery in Shakopee, about 13 miles from their old location (which they still use to package most of their beer) at 6020 Culligan Way in Minnetonka.

    2. Shakopee Brewing Company was among the three plans. They never returned emails, but I understand that it was three individual brewer-investors (including at least one who was an employee at Rahr Malting) going forward. They ultimately made an offer to the city of Shakopee to buy the old city firehouse, but they abandoned their plan in April of 2014 after the city rejected their offer for the firehouse. One of the individuals then went to work on the u4ic plan.

    3. Howling Pooch Brewing is a plan for Shakopee which I linked-to in a post on the previous page of this thread.

So those three plans which I couldn't attach a name to 18 months ago? I can do so, now.

@HammsMeASAP, let me know if you have any other questions.

Note: I had wondered circa 2013/2014 about Shakopee Town Brewery, and also sent them an (unanswered) email. No updates at their social media for some time, and as best I can tell they remain avid homebrewers, only.

I stopped by Lupulin in Big Lake yesterday. All three beers on tap were good (especially the piney IPA) and well above average for a brand new brewery. Lupulin led off with a Belgian blonde ale, a strong stout, and 100+ IBU IPA, so it's apparent that the owners/brewers are not afraid to push exurban palates. They also clearly put a lot of money and effort into the taproom; I think it's one of the better looking taprooms around. I visit most taprooms and brewpubs in the area soon after they open, and, for me, Lupulin had the most impressive debut since Sisyphus, which in turn had the most impressive debut since Dangerous Man (I'll also mention Bauhaus, Bang, and Insight as having had impressive debuts). I definitely encourage people to check it out, especially if they're in the northwestern part of the metro area. Lupulin's pricing structure is odd but worked in my favor: $6 for a pint or $1 for 3 oz. of anything, so a flight is cheaper per ounce than a pint; I've seen that only once or twice previously.

Anyway, one of the owners/brewers mentioned that there's a brewery with taproom in the works in Maple Grove, and I don't think it has been mentioned yet: OMNI Brewing Co. http://www.omnibrewing.com/

@cmannes, @Chaz, @doner24 (who were discussing the lack of breweries in Maple Grove in another thread)

Was just at Lupulin today. Have to agree with everything you said. All three beers were very well done, pricing fair and very, very cool taproom atmosphere. I did think their growler prices were high though at $12-18 depending on the beer plus $5 for glass. I thought their logo and merchandise were really cool looking and eye catching too. Definitely worth a stop if in the area.

Anyone know anything about Yoerg Brewing? Yoerg was one of the oldest Minnesota Breweries and closed in 1952. Someone, apparently, bought the name and will soon be producing Yoerg with pre-prohibition recipes. No mention of a brewery so I assume it's being contract brewed.

Yes. What would you like to know? If it's not to detailed or pointed a question, I can answer it.
