Respectable, but won't help your struggling new business.... I mean, sure, you should send him $10 to Chevron too, but send dude a bottle for his trouble! If he enjoys it, comes back here to post about it, then convinces us, you've got five pages worth of potential customers.

I've tried this beer and it left allot to be desired, there claim to fame are second place finishes in home brew contest, and they have no experience in commercial brewing, but yet they want $300 upfront for their next beers? I wish them the best Burt your situation is looking grim.

What did you not like about it? What needs to be improved?

I enjoyed La Primers, it had a nice funk to it that sours like Cascade and Bruery don't have

I suppose gone are the days of providing an actual review of a beer, rather than saying "left a lot to be desired". Not personally attacking you @ESCO138 because I've seen it in so many other forums. Maybe I'm the only one who uses all 140 characters on Untappd...

I'm still on the fence about the membership. $300 spread across nearly 2 years is pretty solid.

As per transitioning to a big brew system it'll take time to get their recipes dialed in, which is the reason I'll probably catch the membership the second time around or check their tasting room(??). I'm curious on how the first batches will turn out.

As I wasn't able to get out there this weekend, I was hoping we'd have a few more reviews before deciding whether to join up. So far, we have one "fantastic", one "great" and another "left a lot to be desired."

OK, I didn't write anything more, because this thread is already really, really weird and I feel that any positive review will be seen as defending the brewery on their decision about doing a membership before they actually start brewing commercially.
I would love to talk about their beer, like we do in other threads here, but for some reason there is a huge dose of negativity towards CASA, which I don't really get. I understand hates on weird rules on bottle releases, under carbed beer etc etc, but to just complain, because of the model of business somebody decided on - don't get that...
Anyway, since as I saw on their FB there are still plenty memberships left, so if that helps anyone makes the decisions here is my opinion on the only beer I had from them, the plum sour La Primera. I had it on two occasions, first a few months ago, around 3-4 I would say, at a small bottle share. Other beers that we had (and that I remember where Thicket, Cultivateur from Deschutes and Cosmic Dust. In my personal opinion CASA beer was 2nd best after Thicket. It wasn't as sour as Side Project, but it was already a little more complex than Cosmic Dust as I remember it.
Second time I tasted it was this Saturday. From what I know it was exactly the same batch, just aged longer obviously. It had a significantly higher level of sourness, the fruit was still very very strong and tasty, with no medicinal or other off flavors. As somebody mentioned before it has a nice funk that for example Bruery beers does not have. It reminded me of some of the Nigh Shift beers I had and I would put it on the same level I think at the moment. No gushing, carbonation was perfect to my taste. Assuming they will be able to reproduce everything and elevate it on the commercial level, I'm super excited for their beers.

Thank you. I'm close enough for this to be worthwhile so I'm definitely interested in hearing about the actual beer.

Can anyone from the brewery speak to when there will be other opportunities to try this (and anything else)?

...with a STRONG suggestion to doing something the week leading up to FWIBF (May 28th, specifically). I'm flying into LAX and staying with a friend in Santa Barbara that night. Would be perfect if I can swing by to check things out.

@grze thanks for the elaboration. You being a senioresque poster and knowing the cut of your jib through one degree of separation adds cred to the review imho personally. (New registered posters with a few posts "bro'ing" it up is what leads to suspicion, quite frankly.)

Like I said, I hope the beers are fantastic for the sake of more sour beer options locally.

Regardless, even if these beers end up world class, CA guys will just trade them at less than dollar value for Zombie Dust

    Cheers

@grze Thanks for the post. Took me five pages to finally read something worthwhile in this thread. We need more useful info like this!
