    Wax looks best IMO.

Yeah if you don´t peel the wax off this is likely to happen, and it sucks man!

I can vouch for this too. It happened to me on New Year's eve last year. I was already pretty lit and decided to open a bottle of Terrapin Cinnamon Rolled Wake N Bake right before midnight using only a bottle opener. Long story short, it took me a good 15 minutes to open the damn bottle and I drank quite a bit of wax for the next hour.

Wax looks awesome. But it's so freakin hard to get off.... took me like 10min to get the wax off of Deschutes Abyss

Get a heavy duty long flat metal opener and a lighter.

I prefer just capped. I don't want to pay for foil, wax, paper covering, boxes or tins. They are all fine, I just don't think any of them look any cooler. How a bottle looks is seriously the last thing I think about.

You're right and wrong about Cantillon. Cantillon bottles are classy and simple. But I have never seen one with foil. Instead, they cork and cap, which you omitted from your question and I consider the best option of all.

I like foil better, but wax is cooler.

The waxed bottles just look weird to me, going by pictures I've seen on here. Especially when there's this one long random "tentacle" of wax that dripped down and onto the label, or just kinda hanging off at a weird angle.

As far as fancy-looking bottles, I like the foil (though it does come with the minor downside of bottle caps usually being plain blank ones, since they're covered up anyway) and bottles with corks and such are pretty neat, too.

In florida foiled tops always condensate underneath and thus cause rust. I remove them as soon as i buy them. Wax looks the coolest

A good quality crown delivered from a fast bottling or canning line with little oxygen ingress is all I want.

Does foil serve any utilitarian purpose?

While I tend to agree with you, a lot of time, money, and effort goes into "how a bottle looks" from a brewery marketing side of things.
