i was messaged for a trade well over a month ago from @wyckyd_sceptre . He was asking for some Tioga Sequoia beers and on 3/5/15 I shipped the package to him. He was trying to get the beer for a friends birthday, and I have only completed one trade so I shipped first. Then on 3/19 he responded to a message I sent dying he would ship out 3/23. I hear nothing from him for a couple weeks so I message him. 4/11 he says he will ship out 4/13. I haven't heard anything sense. What do I do? I shipped out $45 worth of beer and have waited more than a month to get the package from him.

Three of his four last trade feedbacks posted mention a variation of "took a while to ship".

Sounds like it would be best for this trader to step out of the game for a while if it's become that hard to send boxes in a timely manner. And that's a clear red-flag warning for anyone who chances a trade with him...unfortunate that the OP was a newer trader & had to ship first. Good luck getting your beers.

Totally agree. We are currently working this out. I haven't actively set up any new trades (aside from an IP or two) in a while, had a few things come up and trying to communicate that with traders and make up for it by going over $4$. Quite embarassed by this. Sorry BA.

Hope this works out for you @Martin_carvalho . Martin is a good friend of mine and a very generous person. I've seen the texts back and forth between him and the other party. A lot of leading on. If I recall correctly this boxed was shipped first week of March, I know cause the OP used a bunch of my extra packing material and my FedEx account.

Please don't mess him over wyckyd. This is his first trade on this site.

Oh, don't worry @Martin_carvalho, he "only" has 9 other open trades before he gets to you. Hey @wyckyd_sceptre, if you can't keep up with your trades, then slow down. You should be embarrassed! Some of this shit is getting stupid!

Additionally, if you read his POSITIVE feedback responses, a number of them allude to slow shipping issues. If you can't honor your commitments on a timely basis, you really shouldn't be trading.

Cool guys. I hear you. I never got into this to screw people over or be slow, I just get a little overzealous and a little disorganized. The items in question were shipped yesterday and the other boxes are being shipped out today and I've contacted the traders. I'm not making excuses and I understand the frustration, but I've also tried to go above the agreed upon trades to make up for that. Sorry for any bad vibes and any bad impressions. I've made some good friends and connections here and sorry to see a couple iffy trades ruin that. Apologies BA.

The game of beer trading is so intoxicating (no pun intended) that it is easy to get in too deep if not careful. Remember, trading is a luxury, not a necessity, act accordingly.

Good to see @wyckyd_sceptre show up here to explain himself.

I made a recent IP trade with @wyckyd_sceptre while in his neck of the woods. He was pretty accommodating with respect to my holiday schedule and threw in a nice extra on the trade. He was helpful with info on things I was looking for while in the area too. I don't doubt this will all be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

@wyckyd_sceptre & all traders, what is especially troubling in this trade is that @Martin_carvalho was expected to show additional trust & ship first. Undermining that trust, letting an experience like this be someone's first trading experience, is especially irresponsible & inconsiderate. I can't imagine how I would have felt if I'd had to start a bad trader thread on my first trade. Even experienced traders usually find that to be a very difficult position to be in.

Um,...did I miss something? @wyckyd_sceptre acknowledged his mistake...owned up to it...apologized...and said he would make up for it with extras. Just like all the "reviews" mention he did in the past.

@wyckyd_sceptre is not a bad trader. He's a model BA and has helped me out countless times with brews I was looking for with no expectations in return. Life gets busy sometimes. It was a mistake...no reason to question character.

I have never had contact with either the trader or the trader in question, but owning up to it, saying sorry and making it up with extras doesn't take away from what happened. While he might not be a bad trader and just fell into some bad practices as of late I would still be cautious to trade with him.

Totally understand. My bad. The OPs package will be arriving today. And like I said before, I'm not actively setting up new shipping trades because I'm too much of a goofus to keep everything organized like I should (my wife yells at me about this on a near daily basis). When I inevitably set up future trades, I will have no problem sending tracking info first. I'm an active member of the community, which seems to be different than the other Bad Trader threads I've read, so I just don't want a bad rep following me.

"Saying sorry and making it up w extras" is more than most get in a trade skunk. At least he came thru. Better late than never. I hung out with the OP this weekend and he showed me the list of what he is to receive. Wyckyd did come thru with some excellent beers.

Im not denying the fact that he made it up and that is more than most got in the past from other "bad" trade instances. Like I said I wouldn't call him a bad trader but I would be hesitant to trade with him in the future based what has happened. We all get in over our heads sometimes, im glad he did pull thru and make good on his trades.

While I'm not here to start an argument, saying he's a *model BA* in your opinion, surely is different from mine. Model BA's don't have threads started on a public forum for mistake(s) they make and then have to come in and apologize and send "extras" to make it right. Model BA's do it right all the time and don't let it get to this situation. Based on @wyckyd_sceptre feedback, this has been a reoccurring habit, which hopefully he can break. I do give him props for coming in and apologizing and owning up to his mistake. We all make mistakes, its how you learn from them that matters.

    Cheers!
