If its the west coast - I wouldn't be nervous just yet. I've had boxes dropped off at 8 or 9 pm (especially during summer).

Discussion? Most of Howard's stuff goes down pretty easy (other than General Lenoir, which is a bit boozy). For the most part I think this one does too. Decent but not great beer. But it don't get much more local than that for me between OHB and Howard's.

I meant whoever made the style Black IPA. I rarely get the Hoppiness from the IPA and usually just tastes like a muddled mess. I'm usually way under the rDev on them as I don't enjoy the style. I absolutely love new (to me) beer from anyone local so I do apologize if my comment seemed harsh.

 

The backyard is fine, but if you had said backdoor then I would be scared....

So earlier this week @PA-Michigander got ahold of me about getting together and "opening some things" to toast my recent success at work. I knew if Nick was involved I'd probably be in for a treat, but man, I'm not even sure what to say at this point.


First beer out of his cooler bag blew my mind, top 3 wish list beer for Nick and something I didn't even bother putting on my list as I thought I'd never have a chance. What an amazing beer, special thanks to @Kylo76 for sending this to Nick.

If that wasn't enough we cracked open a beer from my wants list that Nick brought along as well:


Very good stuff, loved how this beer opened up as it warmed.

Nope, I was just trying to figure out what in the heck you meant, the rest of my post was just my normal ramblings not a justification for the beer. As much as I hate agreeing with the smugness that can sometimes come out of the PNW, the Black IPAs from the PNW really are different than a lot of the rest of the country. I had a couple when I was in Portland last year and it definitely changed my opinion of them (typically I think they're mostly gimmicky and I'm not a huge fan).

 

Congrats on your big week Jeremy! I tried to pay it forward the best I coudk after Kyle did what he did. I hit two wish lists and I might try to hit one more. Plus a box for Kyle at a way future time.

Ahh, yea I'm still bummed over the Wings. Which would you recommend from the PNW? I'm really open minded to all styles but have yet to find one I can appreciate from the Black IPA style.
