The Craft Brewers Conference was just in Portland and so a lot of breweries that do not distribute out here were all over the place. I was super disappointed in Founders. Breakfast stout is nothing special, KBS was definitely good but not amazing, blushing monk was horrible, Dirty Bastard was so-so. The only beer I really thought stood out was their standard Imperial Stout.

Similar situation but not the same. I opened a warm can of Jai Alai (I know...what was I thinking). I was about to fly out and didn't want this treasure to go to waste. Bad mistake, I couldn't finish it. It MUST be chilled!

Against the Grain Berwynnerweisse, although that owes completely to the style rather than the brewer. It's the only beer I've ever had to struggle to choke down, and really brought home the fact that sours are just not for me.

Stone Crime/Punishment is up there for me.

I don't drain pour often but I couldn't get past two sips of that crap.

    Olde Frothingslosh.

No, I'm not actually that old.

I am surprised that hardly anyone is bringing up some of the horrible big beers. For instance, I never could understand why anyone wanted to drink Heileman's Old Style. It gives me the heevies just thinking of it. That stuff was skunky bilge-water. No wonder it is gone.

Worse I've had in the last year(not all time) was when I got a bottle of Bell's Cherry Stout. Not sure if it sat forever or if it's just the way it was bottled, but it tasted really weird and a little bitter as well. And this is coming from someone who actually now appreciates stouts unlike years ago, but this bottle for whatever reason tasted really bad. I did the rare step of drainpouring it, and just a little after the halfway mark of how filled up it originally was of beer. Luckily, the place I got it at didn't charge a lot for Cherry Stout, when I got a custom 4 pack of beer there to go.

Putting aside skunked contenders I think I'd have to say Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat.

I went to my niece's wedding in San Diego last fall and they were serving this beer--Plinny the Older I think--and it tasted like dog vomit, I'm not kidding.

Psych! Niece did marry at Stone Brewery. Beer was amazing. Worst beer ever was Fix. Look it up. It's an ancient ale in the truest modern definition.

I also had a swig of a Westbrook Gose before I knew sours were a thing and needless to say that didn't go well for me.

Shock top twisted pretzel wheat. It tasted like margarine and salt.

I was in the same boat on Chai Spiced IRS just did not do it for me at all. But got a pint for $4 so I drank it. Just was right disappointing but when comparing it to the regular and the obligatory love for espresso irs I may have had too high expectations.
