Arriving in Brussels today by Eurostar from London... First time in Brussels.

Am going to drop luggage at hotel and walk straight to Cantillon! Probably will be there in an hour.

As of 4-5 days ago, the picture from the last page was what they still had for on-site consumption.

Nice! Really more interested in what's for take away though honestly. I got a 12 bottle shipper I need to fill!

Take away was Gueuze, Kriek, Vigneronne (3 bottle limit) and Grand Cru Bruoscella. I brought two 12 bottle shippers and still had to bring back 10 bottles in my luggage... That might have been related to 'accidentally' purchasing 12 Westvleteren 12 instead of the 6 that I thought I was purchasing  A position I was quite okay with being in.

    Boom! Thanks man!

I was able to score a Grand Cru in Amsterdam for a reasonable price so that was pretty sweet (best hotel room beer ever!). And I saw some Westy 12 there, but it was crazy expensive. I held off hoping it would be less if we found it somewhere in Belgium.

I will be in Brussels May 19-21, 29-30 if anyone wants to meet up. I plan on bringing some bottles from the bruery, bottle logic and some other US breweries to share.

Quick question guys - can you pay with a credit card at the brewery or is it cash only?

Just fyi, pretty sure the no AmEx thing goes for most of Europe. Visa & MasterCard are generally fine at the places that accept plastic, but AmEx is too expensive to be worth it for them.

Its easier to pay with cash (more so than normal), but cards are accepted. To pay with a card you have to go over to the to-go/merch/tour area (across from the bar area) and pay there; the person at the to-go/merch/tour area will tell the person at the bar what you paid for and then you can go pick it up. If you're paying cash you just give the guy at the bar your cash. If its empty, like it was Thursday morning the second time we went, no problems. If its packed, like it was Monday afternoon (right after Tour de Gueuze), then it definitely slows you down, but still quite possible.

A good portion, though a lot do take it. Oddly enough my main card refused to work at the parking garage we used, so that was the only thing the entire time that I used my Amex for. And the gas station would take neither my main card or my Amex... so ended up using my debit card (all of these had chips in them).

BTW, @distantmantra , you'll have MUCH better luck using your chip cards (even if they are chip-and-signature, but definitely so if they are chip-and-PIN) than using non-chip cards.
