If my buddy and I don't find a ride I'm definitely down for an on-the-sly bottle share on the train:sunglasses:

Thanks! Wish they'd go back to listing when the last day is plus giving advice how long bottles can cellar for. I know it seems trivial but it's definitely caused me to buy less stuff from them in the last year or two.

We talked with Matt about cellaring beers on SMM and his take on is that no one really knows how long you can cellar a beer for. There is no proven method that will for sure tell you how long it will last in optimal settings.

Look at the batch 1 Tart of Darkness they popped. That was from 2011 I believe and that bottle said it could age up to two years...and IMO it tasted better than ever at 4 years.

Long story short, no one really knows how long you can age for. You just have to try and open one every now and then and see what happens with it.

I agree with that in the general sense, however I'd hope that the brewer would at least have a better idea than myself when it comes to setting a general window on longevity. I'm pretty much always buying these beers with nothing more that the written description to go on (no ability to taste them beforehand), adding some sort of general recommendations on aging would help with making me more brave when it comes to how many I should buy. But, I can see their point of view if they don't want to bother/expose themselves to this sort of thing. However, this means that I tend to buy less bottles which is unfortunate in some cases (and fortunate in others! :stuck_out_tongue:).

That's one provisions I regret not buying a ton of when I had the chance. It was amazing, in fact I liked it better than any vintage they've made since

Bois - New American Oak got posted, as if we didn't already know what it would be.

So probably another bois tomorrow. Curious what the next couple weeks will bring though.

Just hoping we will see a non-anniversary or non-anniversary variant at some point during the Archive Sale. For online that is. Its been very anti-climatic so far.

They havent done bourbon Bois yet, so that would be my guess. They havent done all of the Sucre variants, but Im thinking since maybe they would be finishing up with the Bois with Bourbon tomorrow (a Friday), next Monday will see the beginning of the non-anniversary beers.

I'd be very happy if they did a bunch of Smoking Wood and pushed it as a "Final Goodbye". I wouldn't buy any, but I'd laugh plenty and continue not to spend money on this sale.

I know for a fact that at least one day it will not be an anniversary.

anyone recall what last years anniversary archive sale was like? Was it one week of Sucre, a week of Bois, then final 2 weeks of non-anniv?

It's no wonder or surprise why they didn't do anything but regular bourbon barrel aged Cuivre this year. So many different barrel treatments of the last two anniversary treatments that they can't get rid of it all. I'm glad to have the single version this year.
